2 LEFT FEET/BROKEN SOUND/NEW ADDRESS--Floyd's Tallahassee 11 July 2003

Jul 16, 2003 11:39

This show was supposed to include Socialburn, but they're on the road now with Taproot. Do I really care, though? No. I went to see 2 Left Feet. We met them the last time we were in Tallahassee, and they're such great guys! They sounded good on their EP, so I wanted to see what they were like live.

No disappointment here! They just added a bass player, so Randy can now be totally a frontman. The new bassist has been with them only a couple weeks, and he sounded great! Sounded like he'd been with them all along! Randy's got great stage presence. Something like Chris Brown of Trapt; a lot of charisma. Dwayne has a commanding presence, too, on guitar. J.P. does a great job behind the drum set, too. Just a great band with a great thing going on, and I think they'll do very well.

Besides that, they're the most fun people in the world to hang out with! To understand this, you'd either have to spend time with them or check out their message board on their website. They're genuinely great people and very sincere. They love what they do; they love their fans. It's just TEXTBOOK!!!

I have to say thanks to them for making us feel so welcome when we were there. It made the night well worth it!

And the other two bands. . .

Broken Sound ROCKED! Check them out if you get a chance. They're somewhere between The Reunion Show, Motion City Soundtrack, and Ultimate Fakebook. Very, very cool. Cool guys, too.

New Address did nothing for me. They had one song I liked. The rest of it sounded like a band who's destined to be a Socialburn cover band. . . or tribute band. . . either way, they sounded just like them. . . Sorry. That's the first time I've said something "not good" about a band AND named them. I just. . . they. . . make me angry.
