I'm lazy lately so this post is going to be about two lives: Dir en grey at Diamond Hall on Thursday and Girugamesh/lynch/Duel Jewel and others at E.L.L. yesterday.
Dir en grey played two days in a row at Diamond Hall and I decided to go to the first day, Thursday. I got to the hall a little before the doors were opened and met up with
atomicduck When I got inside, the crowd was divided in two halves, one that huddled as close to the stage as possible and another in the very back as far as they could get, so I had no problems finding a place in the middle of the hall right in front of Kyo ;D The rush of the people trying to get closer to the stage the moment the band appeared was scary and I think one of these days I'm going to go deaf and not from the loud music I listen all the time, but from the screams of all those fangirls/boys -___-
Dir en grey started with Dozing Green and the last song for the main part was Grief. They also played Merciless cult, C, Conceived Sorrow, Ryojoku no Ame, Saku, Obscure, Shokubeni, Repetition of Hatred, Amber. They played two new songs, a hip-hop-y one (which I really liked) and a ballad. It's not a complete set list, only what I can remember right now, I'm too lazy to look it up elsewhere and crosscheck if I'm right, the main part was about 1 hour 30 min and it was rather slow for the most of it and got really wild only in the second half with the Obscure. A 5-songs encore was more up-beat with Agitated Scream of Maggots, Clever Sleazoid and The IIID Empire, as well as Kodou.
The band looked pretty much the same as at Ajinomoto stadium including Die's pony-tail and Kyo's sweat pants, however, this time from the very beginning he wore no shirt. I don't just approve of it because I'm a shallow fangirl like that xD but I also understand, it was so hot inside, we were all drenched in sweat.
Kyo sang a cappella before Conceived Sorrow and he did a chant, while the hall was completely dark except a red light behind Kyo so all we could see was his silhouette.
The funny part was when like usual Kyo was hyping up the crowd dividing it in male and female halves: "Otoko! Onna!", he was not satisfied with the screams of the guys so he said something along the lines of "You aren't very energetic, guys!" I was amused that he used the word "genki" and thought it was cute xD~
Shinya threw his drumsticks to the audience as well as an autographed drum head and so many fans grabbed it that they all just fell right in front of us, but I didn't see who got it in the end and if there was much of a fight for it.
Yesterday we went to E.L.L. to see several bands, I wanted to see Girugamesh and I was curious about lynch too. Before the live I met
deadtree,
valkyrie_chan and
hotarubi and we had lunch at Saizeriya. As we walked towards the live house a group of guys walking in the opposite direction spotted us and two of them played janken and decided which one was going to come to us and say something. I think it was
deadtree and
valkyrie_chan dressed in lolita who drew their attention. But as the guy got in front of us, he suddenly exclaimed "Dekinai!", turned and nearly run to his buddies. Even grown men tremble in fear before cute girls in pink dresses! xDDDDDDD
The first band was R指定. They sucked and that "Heil!" aerobics in the beginning was ridiculous and not in a good way.
ネガ was bad as usual.
Duel Jewel was good and fun. Their MC was amusing, the guitarist put on a scouter and said "I sense something strong coming from over there" then the light focused on a drummer who wore exactly the same scouter except the glasses were of a different color xD They tried to communicate with each other using it, but it was all "Eh? What did you say?" xDDD
My opinion of chariots didn't change: very visual, very boring.
Girugamesh was a lot of fun, now that I actually knew songs they played xD I don't know the title/didn't recognize a couple of song, they also played Stupid, Smash and Shining. But their set was too short >_>
This was the second time I saw lynch., their set at Zy: Stylish Wave live was ruined by horrible sound, but I wanted to try them once again and they turned out to be a lot of fun. Hazuki's mannerism was funny to watch. He announced the live in June at Ell Fits All and said that it was sold out and something along the lines of "Thank you to those who are coming, too bad for those who can't" Asshole! I am one of those who didn't get a ticket! >;O
There was a gaijin invasion at E.L.L.! We met with
atomicduck and
kidoairaku after the live and almost demachi-ed while standing outside the live house talking xD
To continue my ramblings about lives, I got tickets for D'espairsray delivered yesterday and OMG I GOT A TICKET NUMBER 13 FOR NAGOYA LIVE!!!!1ONE!!!!ichi!! *flails* Let's see if I survive the front row xD
