It was a good thing that Portalocity had a hidden office near to where Gwyn was living with Tim. Otherwise, she was pretty sure that guards -- police -- would have been called on her before she got to this world's version of home. Even with her cloak covering most of her, it was obvious that she had been in a fight from the blood and muck that seemed to be everywhere.
Once she was in the safety of their home, Gwyn let out a heavy sigh.
She should have gone to get a shower and change before Tim came home and saw her like this. That was what she should have done.
What she did, instead, was let herself walk to the closest room -- the living room -- and faceplanted into the couch. Everything hurt and she was so damned tired. The uprisings back home seemed to be escalating everytime she was called back and so far, they hadn't been able to ferret out the person or persons instigating them. The trips back to her world that she once looked forward to were starting to wear on her and she was trying so hard not to become resentful.
She knew that it would be hard trying to be true to her duty and to her heart, but she didn't know that it would be this hard.
She contemplated getting up and going to the shower... but the couch was a comfortable resting spot and she sort of really didn't want to move. She was pretty sure that this was the most comfortable she had been in several days -- or had it been weeks?
How long had she been in Briton, this time? Time moved differently there than here sometimes and it had been easy in the past for her to be confused.
"Mergh."
Figuring out time and all of that took energy and Gwyn wasn't trying to use too much energy right now.
