Tuesday Morning, Room 410

May 01, 2007 07:40

Gwynn was a little bit mopey and was therefore sort of hiding hanging out in her room. She had picked up her yearbook, but had yet to open it. Too many people had left in the last week and she wasn't ready to look at photos of people who she cared about but that were no longer there. There were quite a few of them.

Of course, the one that had become the most important to her would be leaving soon, too. They hadn't talked about it, yet, but she knew that they would be with his graduation approaching so quickly.

It was so different from the way she had been when she had first arrived here. She had been so upset at feeling like she was being banished from her home that she hadn't wanted to be here. Then, she made close friends, she found a family...

And she lost her heart.

After a year of being in Fandom, there was no place that she would rather be right now. Oh, she would still answer the call of her King if she was summoned. That would never change. She had a duty. One that she couldn't hide from. However, she could hope that she wouldn't be called upon to serve for a long time, right? She was no longer willing to be blinded by her duty to Phillip. She was learning that there was more to the world than just your duty.

Maybe her father had been right. Maybe there was nothing wrong with wanting something more than to just be able to serve your King. Not that she would ever tell him that. There were still many problems between her and her father, but she was beginning to realize that the decisions she had always assumed he made carelessly may not have been as easy to make as she had thought.
