Bye Bye Chiang Mai
We leave for Laos in a few hours! We're not sure what the internet connectivity is going to be like there so this might be the last photo and internet update for a bit. We're really going to miss Chiang Mai. There's something amazing around every corner and a monk on a cell phone in every tuk tuk. Laos is supposed to be a little less bustling and more laid back. At least that's what we hear from people who've just been. As always you can't throw a rock around here without hitting a German tourist with perfect english. They all have great tips.
Paul has become a champion haggler. Last night we replaced his suitcase (the wheels came off his about 2 days and 4 airports into the trip.) with a "North Face" backpack from the night market. Paul talked the guy down about 90 bhat ($25). It's really half the fun. There are all kinds of vendor selling wonderful trinkets on the streets. Please e-mail (Meghann sheridan @ gmail) (no spaces obviously) me or leave me a comment on LJ with your address if you'd like trinkets and/or post cards with interesting stamps to start showing up in your mail. Unless you're related to me I didn't bring your address so send it again even if I should have it! Also if you'd like updates when we post new photos (like today)or to hear all about our trip include your e-mail and I'll add you to the list!
New pictures are up today and again very cool. We're snapping shots of stuff now just so we can remember it at the end of the trip! If the rate of amazing sights keeps up like this my head will explode somewhere around Singapore.
