Character Survey
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? He's only about 5'4", thin and delicate-looking. He has his father's features with his mother's build. He'll only be about another inch or two taller when he's done growing.
2. How old is he? 16.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? He carries himself with dignity and proper posture.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Despite his size, he's decently healthy. Nothing the average person wouldn't get. Just don't expect him to be running marathons or playing sports, thanks to a lack of physical work in the last few years has made his constitution fairly low. He's too delicate for anything too vigorous.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? He's fairly fluid, not too clumsy. He doesn't run into things or trip much.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He's pretty. And he KNOWS he's pretty. He takes a lot of pride in his looks, and makes sure he always looks as best he can. Though it will always bother him if people make fun of him, he refuses to change.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Very pale. He takes after his mother in that way.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Long, fine, perfectly straight and jet black.
9. What color are his eyes? Dark, almost black.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? He has very long and delicate fingers.
11. What are his chief tension centers? His forehead. He gets headaches.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Very Victorian-themed, very proper and formal. Suits, waistcoats, ties, the whole deal. They tend to be dark suits with lighter accessories. He's fond of darker reds and blues.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? He'd feel uncomfortable in anything else. In his suits, he has all the confidence in the world.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? He always dresses the same, no matter how much he stands out.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Boxers. SILK. :3
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? It's actually a bit deep for someone his size.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? Very evenly, words chosen with care. That is, until he gets angry.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Living so close with his German mother has made him pick up some odd pronunciations. His father wasn't around enough for any of the Japanese accent to wear off.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? Native to English. He speaks a little German thanks to his mother. She insisted. He knows some key words here and there in Japanese.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Sometimes a little German when it's just him and his mom. But usually he speaks the same to everyone: condescendingly.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? Usually his temper gets the best of him on the spot. But if he has time to prepare, he's very eloquent.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? See above. =D
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Book smart. Slowly he is gaining street smarts, thanks to his job with Anyway Inc. and running around Manhattan a lot.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He's better if he has time to think.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Logical and practical 100%.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Homeschooled by his mother until age 14, where he demanded to be entered into public high school. The work there isn't as challenging as he's used to.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? His best subjects were English/Literature. His high school teachers were trying to get him to join theater or debate, since he's got a lot of charisma (negative as it is), and a dramatic flair.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Somewhere in the middle. He doesn't understand people well, saying her prefers to be alone. But in reality he's outgoing.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? SUCH A BAD TEMPER. Snobby, condescending and prone to pouting. Um. There's some good in there, promise!
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Suspicious but intrigued. He doesn't freak out, or shy away. Unless he gets mad...
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Depends on the situation, but most likely act.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? He's got a dark sense of humor, and appreciates intelligent quips and remarks.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? Not really, but he tends to be a bit on the histrionic side. He matches his BFF that way. :V
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Having his father teach him how to use his powers. His rebellion against his parents. Entering high school for the first time and managing NOT to get beat up!
14. What does he fear? Being unappreciated and ignored. Ending up like his parents.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? To be ANYTHING that isn't a villain like his parents. The problem is, he has no idea what that is.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? That he would actually be very good at working with his father. That part of him wishes that he would just give in and do it. But he refuses.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. It used to be good, now it's very strained. For horrible murderous villains, his parents were quite caring to their son. But they sheltered him, coddled him, trying to transform him into one of them. It backfired.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? He is an only child.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? Extended family members mostly avoid them. He does know some of them in Germany, and they visit sometimes, but that's only because they fear Norio and Helene.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? His family was very close to the Crowe family, and was close with his "uncle" Devin and "aunt" Angelica. Although sometimes they saw each other sporadically, he was best friends with their son Calleo, who was only a year older than Al.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? See above. =D
6. Does he have other close friends? Clyde Bennett, whom he met at school; and as much as he hates to admit it, Maeko, who he works with at Anyway Inc.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? His condescending attitude and quick temper doesn't exactly make him the easiest guy to get along with.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? He would have said family at one point, but now he would tell you neither.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? Single.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? N/A
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? He's never really had one yet, sadly.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? He'd like an intelligent, demure sort of girl. Someone with a lot of grace and style.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? He's not really interested in children at the moment or in the future. He's young so that could change someday.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? No one specific, but there's a lot of kids at school that hate him.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? 0, or I guess a 1 since Kinsey says 0s and 6s are really rare. =P
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? He's not had it yet. Who knows if it ever might happen. but being your average 16-year-old boy, he thinks about ir pretty often.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? N/A
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? He is a Boar/Pig and a pretty freakin' terrible one. His birthday is August 31, making him a Virgo. He fits that pretty decently.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Neither. He parents never really were, so he was raised that way.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Being that he wants to be the opposite of his parents, he tries to do good deeds, but it almost never happens.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? He'll try to bring you do so hard.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Nothing specific. People annoy him in a general sense. 8D
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? His family is very wealthy and he's used to finer things.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? Rich villainous recluse! After all, we wouldn't want super heroes finding out where they lived. This has been the same his whole life.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? A large suburban home in north New Jersey. It's fancy, but not so much that outside it's suspicious. Inside is extravagant. Underneath, there's a terrifying laboratory.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Books!
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? Besides school, he works for an odd jobs company called Anyway Inc. He does like it!
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? Reading, clothes, trying to figure out new things to do and learn. :V
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? He eats very lightly, and is practically vegetarian. That's more due to taste than any dietary or moral problems.
