Medical Info: He is suffering from tuberculosis given to him during his MU - a special form that is noncontagious, but deadly to him and him alone. Because of this his breathing is affected when the weather turns cold or he experiences prolonged exercise. His lungs are weakening gradually, but overall he's still very physically fit.
Dress (style, colors): White men's kimono/yukata, blue obi, wooden geta with blue ties. Often told he looks girly with his color choices. Basic nature: He is basically a kind and fun-loving person, but he is also a cold killer and does what he needs to do to complete his job and support his cause. He's fiercely loyal, and sometimes unexpectedly attached to people. If betrayed, it hurts him twice as much as he lets on.
Mannerisms: Good at reading people, and using what he has gleaned from listening in to conversations to manipulate people into doing what he needs them to do. Good at diplomacy and personal relations, but sometimes puts on the show of knowing what to do when he really doesn't.

PART I : THE BASICS
1. What is your full name?
Okita Soujirou Fujiwara no Kaneyoshi. I changed it from Harumasa as a child, and later changed my name to Okita Souji. Fujiwara no Kaneyoshi is my written name. In kanji, it is written: 沖田総司藤原の房良
2. Where and when were you born?
I was born in the summer, in the Shirakawa-han of Edo.
3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father was a samurai. He taught at our dojo and took care of our family as best he could. He was a noble man, but I lost him when I was very young. I never met my mother.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Yes! I have two older sisters, Mitsu and Kin. They were very kind to me. Mitsu was very elegant. We still stay in touch.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Right now I 'live' at Landel's Institute with several other 'patients'. It's a mental institution by day and something quite different at night.
6. What is your occupation?
My official title is Assistant to Vice Commander Hijikata Toshizou and Captain of the First Squad of the Shinsengumi, Protectors of Kyoto. We are officially under the rule of the Aizu clan.

Well, I'm somewhat in the medium area of height and I've been told I'm rather slim. I have long dark hair that I wear down and dark eyes, but I don't have any scars which is rather amazing considering my work. I usually wear a white yukata and wooden geta with dark blue obi and matching ties for my shoes. I keep my hair down and while I do get teased for it, I don't really mind.
8. To which social class do you belong?
The Okita family is a branch of the Fujiwaras, and we are born samurai.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I wish I could just skip this question~

Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like?
It's rather high for a man, I'll admit that.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Mm... I use a lot of aizuchi, I suppose.

I don't really have pockets, but since coming to the Institute, I keep two or three pens clipped to my waistband at all times.

I clap my hands when I get an idea. And I tilt my head when thinking. Mm...Oh! I tend to put a finger to my chin when thinking, too. I've also been told I sit too formally, or I sit and laugh like a girl. I was raised by my sisters, so I really can't help that.

It was very short.

I'm not supposed to talk about it.

I was educated as well as any boy my age should have been. I know how to read and write my letters, I can play go and compose poetry, and I've been trained in the sword.

As much as I had of it, yes.

In the dojo and from my sisters.

Yes. Kondo-san has always been a role model to me. He is very kind and very strong, and he took care of me when I was still quite useless. My father, I suppose... He taught me the value of being a man and the weight of honor.
Later, Hijikata-san was more of a leader than a role model, I think. I looked up to him and wanted to support his and Kondo-san's ideals.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My sisters and I were very close, but only as much as we could be. Kin left the family early to be married and Mitsu married when I was nine.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Someone useful.

Cleaning.

I was very quiet, but I tended to cry at the smallest thing. I was also very shy and hid behind my sisters whenever someone new came along.

Not at all. There weren't any children my age.

Hm~ I don't remember.

The foreigners are invaders upon our shores and the shogunate is trying its best to turn them away, but we cannot avoid the tides of time. As much as we hope that by learning their strange ways we can later defeat them, I realize that the world is changing beyond what we can comprehend. I fight a war to stop those who want to crush what little strength we have left in the face of the invaders, but in the end, we both want the same thing - the foreigners to leave our shores alone.

At home, I would wake up, train, get a quick breakfast, give orders to the men in my unit and oversee their morning drills, wake Hijikata-san, see to what he needed me to do, then go on patrol or go to train recruits. Disruptions were a natural thing, so I'm not too perturbed when they happen.
Here, the day is pretty much set. There isn't a lot of diversity.

PART I : THE BASICS
1. What is your full name?
Okita Soujirou Fujiwara no Kaneyoshi. I changed it from Harumasa as a child, and later changed my name to Okita Souji. Fujiwara no Kaneyoshi is my written name. In kanji, it is written: 沖田総司藤原の房良
2. Where and when were you born?
I was born in the summer, in the Shirakawa-han of Edo.

My father was a samurai. He taught at our dojo and took care of our family as best he could. He was a noble man, but I lost him when I was very young. I never met my mother.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Yes! I have two older sisters, Mitsu and Kin. They were very kind to me. Mitsu was very elegant. We still stay in touch.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Right now I 'live' at Landel's Institute with several other 'patients'. It's a mental institution by day and something quite different at night.

My official title is Assistant to Vice Commander Hijikata Toshizou and Captain of the First Squad of the Shinsengumi, Protectors of Kyoto. We are officially under the rule of the Aizu clan.

Well, I'm somewhat in the medium area of height and I've been told I'm rather slim. I have long dark hair that I wear down and dark eyes, but I don't have any scars which is rather amazing considering my work. I usually wear a white yukata and wooden geta with dark blue obi and matching ties for my shoes. I keep my hair down and while I do get teased for it, I don't really mind.
8. To which social class do you belong?
The Okita family is a branch of the Fujiwaras, and we are born samurai.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I wish I could just skip this question~

Right handed.

It's rather high for a man, I'll admit that.

Mm... I use a lot of aizuchi, I suppose.

I don't really have pockets, but since coming to the Institute, I keep two or three pens clipped to my waistband at all times.

I clap my hands when I get an idea. And I tilt my head when thinking. Mm...Oh! I tend to put a finger to my chin when thinking, too. I've also been told I sit too formally, or I sit and laugh like a girl. I was raised by my sisters, so I really can't help that.
PART II : GROWING UP
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
It was very short.

I'm not supposed to talk about it.

I was educated as well as any boy my age should have been. I know how to read and write my letters, I can play go and compose poetry, and I've been trained in the sword.

As much as I had of it, yes.

In the dojo and from my sisters.

Yes. Kondo-san has always been a role model to me. He is very kind and very strong, and he took care of me when I was still quite useless. My father, I suppose... He taught me the value of being a man and the weight of honor.
Later, Hijikata-san was more of a leader than a role model, I think. I looked up to him and wanted to support his and Kondo-san's ideals.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My sisters and I were very close, but only as much as we could be. Kin left the family early to be married and Mitsu married when I was nine.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Someone useful.

Cleaning.

I was very quiet, but I tended to cry at the smallest thing. I was also very shy and hid behind my sisters whenever someone new came along.

Not at all. There weren't any children my age.

I'm like most people of my time. We believe in a Buddhist death and a life full of the spirits around us.

The foreigners are invaders upon our shores and the shogunate is trying its best to turn them away, but we cannot avoid the tides of time. As much as we hope that by learning their strange ways we can later defeat them, I realize that the world is changing beyond what we can comprehend. I fight a war to stop those who want to crush what little strength we have left in the face of the invaders, but in the end, we both want the same thing - the foreigners to leave our shores alone.

At home, I would wake up, train, get a quick breakfast, give orders to the men in my unit and oversee their morning drills, wake Hijikata-san, see to what he needed me to do, then go on patrol or go to train recruits. Disruptions were a natural thing, so I'm not too perturbed when they happen.
Here, the day is pretty much set. There isn't a lot of diversity.
