hah- provigil... lifeofreilly February 16 2006, 14:28:51 UTC
I've had a perscription for almost two years now.

It makes the 12 hour drive back from the Burn actually do-able... :)

and there I was thinking everyone just smoked spliffs all the way back.. :)

however, I do wish it was a damn sight cheaper (modafinil/provigil), there are definitely times when it's useful (important biz meeting right after a morning red eye, etc), but even off the net, in NZD, it's ridiculous (from memory, something like NZD20 per).

crazy.

I have no idea how your Kiwi Money works. It is fuzzy as well?

I just pay my $40USD insurance co-payment and pick up my 60 x 100mg pills... :)

1 NZD ~ 0.70 USD.

catch is, to get it over here, you pretty much have to buy it off the net.. which makes it crazy expensive right off the bat.. then import it (freight charges, shouldn't be much, but you get stung anyway). etc.

Someone you know could put a few in a padded envelope and mail it to you.

I mean- not *me* and all- because that would be illegal, and I would never do something like that. No- not I.

But I am sure you know people... :)

Illegal? hmm. not sure about that. Dubious, perhaps, but not sure about illegal. and besides, I'd never ask anyone I cared about to do something like that*

in the meantime, I've settled for this (ignore the breathless marketing commentary). It's not sold in NZ (but then, nothing is), so is importing it illegal? Hard to say. Seriously doubt it. A lot of local people have got pretty hooked on it, actually. Similar kind of effect to modafinil, in fact, I'd actually say, from personal experience, you end up with a clearer mind as a result of using it than I have the couple of times I've taken modafinil. Best description I've heard is that it's in the nootropic category, so, attentive/alertness, with damn-near-zero buzz/hype. Certainly just about everyone I've ever given any to has ended up going to the website and buying more. Pretty interesting stuff. Depending on the person, it gives you somewhere from 8-12 hours of alert wakefulness. Pretty damn interesting. Can bring some to BM, if you're curious-but-not-enough-to-warrant-buying-a- ( ... )
