Meg smiled. "It's fine. Everything is going to fine. And it will be beautiful."

Veronica smiled. "Right. Fine. It's not like you're going to go into labor or anything in the middle of the ceremony."

"Lord, no," Meg assured her quickly. Then blinked. "It's only February. It can't happen. Take a breath. Let's both take a breath." Meg took a deep breath.

"Breathing. That's important."

Veronica took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"There you go. See? It feels good. Maybe one more time." Meg did it again.

"I bet Dick is breathing too. I bet he is wonderfully excited."

"Unless he's high-tailing it out of town with the Logans right now," Veronica said.

"He wouldn't dare," Meg assured her.

Veronica gave Meg a hug. "Thank you for being here with me today."

"I love you, Veronica. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

"So," she bounced, lightly, "yay! Wedding!"

"Yay, honeymoon?" she teased.

Veronica chuckled. "I still have no idea where we're going."

Meg gasped. "A surprise! Oh, how much fun!"

"Oh! I have a present for you."

Veronica walked over to the bureau that held three shiny silver gift bags.

Inside Meg would find an antique jewelry box engraved with her name and today's date. Inside the box was a necklace and earrings.
