Desmond, when he was asleep (and quite honestly, most of the time when he was awake, as well), didn’t know the meaning of the words “personal space.” More often than not, Gabriel would wake up to his boyfriend’s comatose body draped across him in some fashion. He’d never really shared a bed with someone so clingy before, but Gabriel found that the longer Des and he slept in the same bed, the more he got used to it. On the nights when he stayed at his own apartment, Gabriel had surprised himself by being unable to sleep because he didn’t have the comforting weight of his lover against his body.

The same lack of sleep had plagued Desmond as well, but it wasn’t something that either of them would have to worry about ever again. They were settling into bed on their first night in their new apartment together, and Gabriel grinned as he felt the mattress dip as Desmond crawled into the bed. Gabriel felt an arm slip around his waist and couldn’t stop the smile that played across his face as Desmond curled up against his back.

“So,” he said quietly, his hand moving down to cover Desmond’s, which rested against his stomach.

Desmond smiled and placed a soft kiss on the curve of Gabriel’s shoulder. “So.”

“Here we are, in our own apartment,” Gabriel said, smiling and snuggling back into Desmond’s embrace. “Our own bed.”

Desmond chuckled softly and trailed kisses along the line of Gabriel’s shoulder and up his neck. “Mmhmm, I know. Are you sure that you can handle it, sharing a bed with me 24/7? I mean, I know I can be kinda clingy and I’m a bit of a bed hog.”

Gabriel snickered at that and turned slightly, glancing over his shoulder at his lover. “A bit?” he teased. He laughed and shivered when Desmond bit at his neck, and then he shifted, settling back against Desmond. “Nah, I think I can handle it. I love you more than having the bed all to myself.”

Desmond felt a warm glow spread through him at that, and he hugged Gabriel tightly, placing a delicate kiss against the outer shell of Gabriel’s ear. “Me too,” he murmured happily. “Good night, Gabriel.” He snuggled in closer to Gabriel, wrapping his arms more tightly around his lover, and closed his eyes.

When Gabriel woke up in the morning, he was lying on his back, one arm draped around Desmond’s shoulders, who was lying almost on top of Gabriel, one leg draped across Gabriel’s lower half and his face buried against Gabriel’s side, his nose practically shoved in Gabriel’s armpit. One arm was slung across Gabriel’s chest, gripping his shoulder tightly. Gabriel just chuckled and threaded his fingers through Desmond’s hair. Yeah, he was pretty sure he could handle cuddling like this.
