So!

There is something important that I think should be addressed amongst ourselves. Yourselves, rather; I'd prefer to stay out of the circumstance entirely. However, there is something everyone has been keeping themselves happily oblivious to, but...cannot be ignored forever.

As an example for what I am going to talk about, a boy was recently killed. This boy was human and ordinary in every possible way save for being the single biggest oversight in my entire career and the killer was a non-human: a vampire of considerable power. To keep things simple, I will make two categories: one for those like the boy--normal, ordinary humans--and one for non-humans.

Conflict between humans and non-humans has always been common: in my personal experience, humans have burned witches at the stake with no provocation and with only fear as motivation. In the opposite side of the scale, humans are often persecuted by non-humans for being 'little more than animals', often as scapegoat for those non-humans to relieve their stress and anger upon.

What this boils down to is...

How long will it be before the humans, in fear of powers they cannot possess or understand, attempt to control these non-humans they will call 'monsters' and 'beasts', such as the vampire that so casually killed a human?

How long will it before the non-humans, out of frustration of being unable to escape their entrapment, will need an outlet for their anger and a need to give themselves a sense of self-importance, so they conveniently classify the weak--the humans--as a lower class and use these 'sub-creatures' as a means and without worth, such as the human that was so casually killed by the vampire?

Again, stop and think: a weak boy with nothing to contribute was killed by a vampire of great power. What do you feel about this? What you think and feel will depend on which side you relate to! Even without the power of Certainty, I can say that for certain.

In summation!

How long will it be before the denizens of Mayfield are no longer one, but rather many fighting amongst themselves out of fear of one-another? This is not a possibility, it is an eventuality.
