College Update.
Despite not posting for a while, I do exist, and here is my college information for you reading pleasure:
Harvard:denied
Princeton:denied
Columbia:accepted(with John Jay scholarship)
U Penn:wait listed
Georgetown: wait listed
UNCC:accepted early(to honors program and with academic scholarship.)
I'm planning on attending Columbia, assuming I am able to. The John Jay scholarship comes with lots of bells and whistles: Presentations, Luncheons, speakers series, scholar's community activities, a scholars guidance office, and a small number of financial benefits. Mostly, its just prestige.
I called my interviewers today and told them the results, and the one from Princeton said "I'm sorry the guys in New Jersey made the wrong decision, and glad the ones in New York made the right one." The Columbia interviewer said his recommendation probably got me in, which left me uncertain of what to say, but I thanked him and he invited me to have coffee with him if I had any questions about Columbia.
So, yeah. College
Oh, and the Germany Scholarship: I applied to a scholarship to spend a year in Germany with a bunch of extra stuff, like a month of language study and a chance to meet German congressmen, and I was only accepted as an Alternate. According to the rep. at CIEE, the organization, last year, half of the alternates were able to attend, but she would not tell me the number of alternates this year, nor my place on any list which may exist.
And just today I put in money to go to Mori No Ike again. I may have to withdraw, however, since I will probably need that money for college.
