I need help from you people.

So, if you read my last post, you understand that I am in desperate need of money(this is not the way I need your help). As I tossed and turned in agony trying to sleep last night, it occured to me that years before, my grandfather had made a promise in order to keep his grandchildren playing piano. Look, Wataru, this is Haruka from JD74. You can get a scholarship with the Freeman Foundation Scholarships if you get it in RIGHT NOW. Seriously, it's due March 15, so you need to step on it. It'll pay up to 90% of your camp dues, which would be super-good for you. You'll need to write an essay, but it's only a page long, and all you have to do is talk about how much you love Japan. That shouldn't be hard. Other things to put into essays like this would be stuff about how learning about other cultures has broadened your perspective/camp has made you a much more mature person, stuff like that. Trust me, I'm the master bullshitter. I've managed to charm more adults than Bill Clinton. The form is on the CLV website www.concordialanguagevillages.com , look under Scholarships. If you think you can't get it in on time, then call them and beg, it just might work. Also, you'll need part of your parents' tax forms, so tell them about that so they can get it to you.

The other chance you might have to get easy money is from your school. I know it sounds weird, but some private schools have slush funds that they use to give kids extra money to go on college trips and stuff like that, so it's worth a try. Talk to your class sponsor or the financial aid person.

On a final note, I realize it's really weird that I'm posting this and all, but I think it would be really great if you could find some way to get back to Mori no Ike this summer because the JD74 kids are awesome. Hope it works out.

Ganbatte kudasai!

Aww, Haruka! You do care! Dai suki da <3

I actually read your reply right as I was finishing my application for the freeman foundation. I think I did a good job, and have a high to decent chance of getting support!

I wish you could come back this year :( I will sorely miss our kanji playtime during the obnoxiously loud talent shows. Thanks for the advice, I think I will actually be able to go again this year.
