Early evening, or maybe late, since it was dark, and Kon was freaking out about a few simple facts. 1- His best friends were girls and 2 - the girl he was supposed to go on a date with was a boy. She's been fiddling with the telescope, but it doesn't mean she didn't notice someone coming up. Still, there are people on the roof all the time--there's just this sort of unspoken rule, it seems, that if somebody's already up there being emo you leave them alone.

Kon leaned against the edge of the door frame. "Hey. Can you...I mean...Tim and Cassie and Bart...am I the only one that thinks it's really weird?" He was pretending to be okay with it. After that first freakout, he hadn't wanted to make everyone else uncomfortable. But after a while, he just came to the conclusion that it was mostly those three he was weird around."

Dairine shrugs, sitting down on the edge of the roof and motioning him over. "Course it's weird. It's just not that weird for the island. I was a boy last time it happened."

"I was supposed to...Cassie and I were supposed to go out on a date." Were. He joined her, perfectly at ease at the height, especially since it wasn't even that high to begin with. "I wouldn't...I didn't have a problem seeing Karolina as a boy." She wasn't the problem. He just wasn't sure what the difference was.
