Last night, Jenna told me about a conversation that she had in class with a professor. I'm going to leave out the larger part of it and suffice to say that they figured "google" was now a verb. Ok, pretty basic stuff. As words begin to gain wide spread popular usage, said word's definition may change.
Her professor came in the next day and said one of the most ignorant things I think I have heard a prof say in a long time...here goes...
"Don't google 'Google'..."
"why"
"It messes up your computer."
....um....AHHHHHH. We pay $$$ for this lady to teach us (Jenna could get into an entirely new discussion about that)and she actually says something like that. As if placing the word in the search bar is going to upset the natural balance of the internet and send your web browser into a tailspin only the magical Ctrl-Alt-Delete fairy can remedy. sigh.
I don't know a whole hellofalot about computerness...but I do know that googling google will NOT do anything but give you results which you can find on the page before....
