[The recording begins with a short sneeze, but Prydain is feeling a little better than he did a few days ago...not much more in him, Gohl's been getting by off the same big kill stored away, and he's starting to get cold sores from lack of fruit or vegetables.

There's a bristley scrape, scrape scrape of a pushbroom, but the light whistle of wind ( Read more... )

[Giovanni's been back at Marshall for the nights since he can travel the rooftops (albeit carefully slow) with the storm gone, but spends most of his days at Ghol because...well because frankly he's attached. Currently he's still at Marshall, in between bouts of attempting to talk to his estranged son.]

Take it easy for a while if you need, giovane. [pause] Do you know what delegating is?

[A groan. From he sound of it, he's heard plenty of that word before.]

Letting other people handle stuff?

Telling other people what to do and letting them see to it. It is what rulers do when they have too much on their plate, as it were, to handle personally. It gets things done, and gets them done quicker. You supervise and make sure its correct but the overall work means less for yourself to handle alone.

I...I know that. I just...

Only because you allow yourself to be. Which is what makes you a fine young man, that knows and cares more than most even realize they should.

But that does not make you infallible nor incapable of falling from the inevitable fatigue and unheathly conditions you're putting yourself through.

Being responsible does not mean you cannot simply make sure someone else sees to it properly.

Then send someone who is accustomed to handling risky business.

And yet risk yourself to harm if the building should be weak where you stand. You kept the others away from the upstairs rooms for the same reason. And if you are gone, who will take care of your precious friends?

If you will not take wise advice when it is given then you are no more than a child.

I'm not a child. I've run things here my way just fine.

I'm not fixing it all today. Just covering it up.
