Late December

In related fields/politics, two events were most influential this month:

For the first time, consequences of telephone-hoaxes on the radio have been in mainstream media rotation like this. May change the climate a bit?
And, the tragic school-shooting in Connecticut; the National Rifle Association in an attempt to prevent stricter gun-laws, then tried to blend together school-violence with crime shortly before the feasts, leaving the blogosphere no space to respond. Independent comments will likely begin to appear after New Year.

December has been slow. First had to get rid off back-pain, and when it declined, for nearly two weeks now I got a bad cold; delayed plans into January.

For me Christmas are silent neutral days of work and watching some documentaries. One avoids most of the usual wishes; my friends practise it the same way. Can mean much more when the others know one wishes them a good time but neither side has to actually say it.^^ In our flat share, the few who don't drive home during holiday prefer to have some time for themselves.

Here the house meanwhile is nearly empty, and the hallways cold, in nice contrast to a couple of rooms.
