“Hang them from the waist, they blow better”

Every once in a while I get into the mood, or frame of mind, where absolutely everything seems pathetic. And no one caters to these moods more fully that the ubiquitous Slipknot.

Now for the full “everything’s pathetic” vibe, of course we’d have to focus specifically on their first two albums. After that they get artistic and creative in their music making. Which is all well and good, but not what I’m looking for right now. (Maybe later)

I was helping a guy with his thesis a while ago, letting him interview me about metal music. He asked me why I had developed an interest in it as I got older. I suggested that maybe I just got angrier.

Grrrr.  Aha

It’s true though, metal really does calm me down. I think it’s because while you’re listening to music, it gives you an area (within the songs) where you get to just feel. It’s an outlet and an escape.

Music television on the other hand is a completely different situation. I’ve got a good bit of time off at the moment, and I’ve found that there are very few things in the world that can leave you feeling as apathetic about everything like 3 straight hours of channel hopping between the music stations.
