Or

Ichijou Takuma’s childhood isn’t very known canonly since it isn’t delved into as much as the main characters. But we know he was brought up in a high class, rich environment by his grandfather.

He is a noble vampire belonging to the B Class. The class directly below a Pureblood which are the most powerful kind of vampires. His grandfather not only ran a business that dealt with everything dealing with the human and “night world”, but he was also the head of the Council of Elders which were the vampires that had control over the rest of the vampires. They set rules, regulations and dealt with society. His grandfather was feared because he was very powerful not only in strength but in political and business influence.

Takuma’s parents’ whereabouts are unknown, but it is known that his father has been estranged from the family along with his life. Probably because he chose a more whimsical path of being an actor rather than a successor to his father’s company. His mother runs her own flower arranging school. From that, it’s safe to assume his mother came up with his given name, which means “The cultivation of Flax”. Regardless of his parents being alive, his grandfather raised him. Ichijou’s friends make comments all of the time saying that he’s nothing like his grandfather and how he and his grandfather are completely opposite from each other.

Another tidbit about the Ichijou family is that they’re the first nobility branched family to come into existence. Which is probably another reason why they’re powerful and highly revered by the other noble vampires and so close to the Purebloods. They were the first right hand men of the Purebloods. This gives Takuma the ability to order around and take command of other noble vampires, which is probably why the other vampires of the night class tack on the honourific “-sama” to his family or given name. Mostly his given name since they are well acquainted with him.

This noble vampire probably spent his childhood being schooled by the best tutors money could buy, being taught the ways of business, spending a bit of time with his friends, and training with his katana. Since his grandfather was so strict and harsh, he was probably verbally abused (seeing as how he even verbally abused his best friend Kaname) perhaps he was even physically abused as a child (but the latter part is purely headcanon. Though given his grandfather’s violent nature, it’s not implausible.) He also probably spent time going to social events to meet people and build connections for when he was passed on the Ichijou Company. Soirees, balls, parties, and the like.

When he was eight years old, Juuri and Haruka Kuran passed away, being brutally murdered by Rido Kuran, Juuri’s brother that wanted to kill and devour his best friend’s younger sister Yuuki Kuran. Ichijou Asato (his grandfather) took him in and Kaname began to live with them from then on. Asato wanted to adopt Kaname into the Ichijou family-for power reasons of course-but Kaname refused not wanting to be just another tool for Asato to use like he did with Takuma.

Takuma saw the changes that Kaname went through while they were living with each other. He was one of the very few vampires to know that Kaname was the reincarnation of the first vampire in existence…the true King of Vampires. He probably also knew that Yuuki was his sister seeing as how Juuri would take Kaname back and fourth to his house to visit when she was alive. Even after she passed away, Kaname went to visit Yuuki at Cross Kaien’s house and Takuma has admitted to spying on him and his sister because he couldn’t help it. Cross would also want to take candid pictures of him and Kaname.

The years went by, as they tend to do and when Takuma was about fourteen in looks (lord knows how old in vampire or human years), he enrolled with Kaname and his other noble class friends (Shiki, Rima, Kain, Aidou, Ruka, Seiren), into a school called Cross Academy. There, Cross Kaien was trying to prove that vampires and humans could co-exist. (Though the humans there didn’t know that vampires attended). His primary purpose was to keep watch over Kaname for Asato and report his movements to him. Though, Takuma refused since Kaname was his best friend and he wasn’t going to betray him like that.

The vampire classes were called the Night Class and they attended their lessons during the evening when the Day Class students were going back to their Sun Dorms.

He was the Moon Dorm Vice Leader while Kaname was the Moon Dorm Leader. He did the majority of the work, doing all of the tasks that Kaname wasn’t up to doing or was already too busy to do. In his opinion, he did enough work to be the Dorm Leader himself, but he was fine being the Vice Leader since the other vampires devoutly followed Kaname’s every whim since he was a Pureblood. Also, he didn’t mind the work that much, though he would complain every so often anyways.

His roommate and very close friend was Shiki. Shiki’s personality was very bland. He was normally quiet, only speaking when necessary and had a very bored expression on all of the time, working as a model part time. Shiki was protective of Takuma and Takuma protective of Shiki. Rima was also a close friend to Takuma, probably because she was so close to Shiki. She keeps telling Takuma to stop dragging Shiki around to do stupid things. Though Shiki enjoys it and thinks the things they do are interesting.

Another thing about the Night Class and the nobles is that they have to exterminate Level E’s. Level E’s are D Class vampires that have lost all of their sanity and start to ravage and attack humans ruthlessly trying to satisfy an insatiable appetite for blood. D Class vampires are humans that have been turned into vampires by a Pureblood from a bite. Unless that D class vampire continues to get a supply of blood from the Pureblood vampire that bit them, they have no chance in keeping their sanity. When Takuma was given a task to get rid of one, he would quickly dispose of them with a quick slice of his katana, molecularly destroying it in the process.

Character Personality: Takuma is the token bouncy one of the group. His demeanor is sun-shiny and cheerful and he is seen smiling or laughing a lot. He’s friendly, a social butterfly, and all around that one nice guy that everyone likes to be around because of his good mood. He likes to keep the atmosphere light, especially if it looks like things are starting to get tense.

This vampire sparkles. Well, not physically or anything anybody can tangibly see, but the atmosphere around him can seem pretty glittery when something tickles his fancy or he starts to become enraptured by something that makes him particularly happy. Or when he’s being a bit silly like when Shiki criticized him about him leaving his underpants and clothes on the floor of his dorm and he replied with a sparkly aura, “They’re all made of silk and fine materials, so it’s okay to display them on the floor”. He’s also poked fun at being called a fake vampire for his levels of energy, bouncy moods, and bright personality rather than the typical dark and brooding or even dangerous feel a vampire normally has.

Which brings me to the next part of his personality. Being raised in a high class and wealthy society, he has expensive taste. His clothes look very nice (slacks, sweater vests, and button shirts) and probably cost a lot because he can afford them. He likes more of the lavish things, though not to the point of being a spoiled brat. Not like his friend Aidou who requires lavender scented sheets to sleep at night.

He likes sweets and is often seen drinking tea from cute little teacups and the like. And he also likes to read manga instead of the heavier material. As he’s said to Kaname “I’m just a ditz that reads manga”. His manga collection is huge and will let people borrow them as long as they take care of them. He even forces manga on people with a smile. It’s his goal to supply the Dormitory with Ten Thousand Manga.

He also enjoys reading mystery novels and dictionaries. He’s very interested in how languages are put together and how words are used in everyday society. Don’t ask me why, he’s strange.

Then there’s his collection. In his and Shiki’s dormitory, a majority of the space belongs to him. Maybe it’s because of his status as the Dorm Vice President and he got first dibs, maybe it’s because Shiki seems the type that doesn’t need a lot of space, or maybe it’s because he knows the headmaster so well, that he got some say so in the building of the Academy. Either way, his possessions take up a vast majority of the room. He’s a collector, he collects things that he’s into at the time. So if anyone enters his room, there’s always something to comment on. He has things from interesting looking mushrooms that he and Shiki found while walking around campus one night, to Aidou’s confiscated Kaname plushie, to items that he hopes will curse him one day just to prove that they are indeed cursed.

And tea? He is an expert at it. He can tell you what tea will do what for you, what tea is the best grade, how to steep each one, how it’s best served, and everything like that. If you ask something about tea, he can answer in no time. He even sneaks into the Day Class tea ceremony club from time to time. He probably creates quite a stir since he’s one of the glamorous Night Class students. But he’s mastered the art of tea in every way. From Western to Eastern teas, he’s got the know how.

Some other miscellaneous things that he does/can do is:

♥Knitting- In the video game, he holds up a fishing net made of wires. Your character asks where he found that and it’s revealed that he knitted it. (It’s a wonder how or when he learned. It was probably during one of his hobby phases.)

♥Cooking- In one of the drama CDs where Takuma and Kaname were having a cooking contest to see who could create the better okonomiyaki, it failed miserably at first. But after a bit of instruction from Aidou, he created something delicious. So he’s able to cook with the proper instruction. Give him a cook book and he’ll be fine.

♥Drawing- In the fanguide, it says he draws doujinshi of the Night Class and sells them with Shiki and they all sell out. That’s saying something about his drawing abilities.

♥He plays dating simulation games with Shiki. He also likes horror things like scary movies and haunted houses. This probably stems from his cursed items thing.

♥Rakugo- This is a type of Japanese sit down comedy. He loves to laugh, so this brings him great delight. He shares this hobby with Shiki who particularly wouldn’t watch that kind of thing by himself, but since Takuma enjoys it, he enjoys it, too. (Aren’t they so freakin’ cute?)

Back to his general personality, he has a pacifistic nature. When the some of the Night Class gathered around to call Zero out, a potentially violent situation, he wasn’t there to join them. Though, he did get scolded for not putting an end to it sooner. But it was a light scolding since it was secretive and he didn’t know it was actually going to happen or where.

He also has a serving and submissive nature. He’s found often doing errands when he’s told to (sometimes when he’s not). A lot of duties are pushed off on him, Sara even treats him like a servant and he does what she asks. It can be very helpful for those that ask for the favour in a nicer way, but it can also be seen as being a push over for those that take advantage of him. His grandfather also took advantage of him since he would pretty much take his crap.

Takuma is protective of his friends. He even stood in front of Shiki when Kaname was going to attack him which was a very dangerous move to just protect his body even though Rido was inside of it. He also made sure Shiki’s body was unharmed when he was unconscious and the lesser vampires were trying to attack him.

Then there’s his smile. Takuma is known for his smile since he smiles the most in the series. He has a smile for pretty much every emotion. His sad smiles, his serene smiles, his warm smiles, his super happy smiles, his excited smiles, his teasing smiles, etc etc etc. Along with his smiles, he also shows more emotion around his friends. He isn’t masking like Kaname and he’s not straight faced like Shiki and Rima. He’s, in my opinion, one of the more expressive vampires along with Aidou whose expressions are more….loud. Ichijou will pout and sob playfully when someone is “cruel” like when Aidou was criticizing his grandfather or when Shiki destroyed his fake Halloween head ( the latter from the video game).

He’s also very playful. He likes to explore places even if the turnout is anticlimactic. He also like teasing others and creating a bit of mischief, Aidou being his prime target. He’s also come up with schemes to trick Kaname, but they fail most of the time in which he gets into a huff like a child.

His romantic type is and I quote from him, “I’m tired of looking at beautiful women all the time, so anyone I get along with is fine”

He also describes himself as the equivalent to a night owl for humans. Which would make him a “day bird”, staying up well into the hours of the day reading manga.

His attitude about a lot of things are "Things are the way they are and there's not much one can do about it". His views on things are a bit more laid back because of how open minded he is. He's definitely the type of person who takes things as they are without too much questioning. This could be from the way he was raised by his grandfather. A child should be seen and not heard.

This could explain why he's such a pushover. But at the same time, he can be a bit pushy. (Dragging his best friend along to do silly things with him). His grandfather has had his grip so tight around him that it's almost become second nature to say "Yessir" without a second thought to someone with more authority than him.

His relationship with his grandfather isn't a good one. His grandfather tries to control him and his actions and Takuma just wants to do what he likes. His grandfather is all about power and gaining control over the vampire world and striking terror into the other vampires and Takuma is a peace and comfort loving individual. When his grandfather came to visit the dormitories unexpectedly, he started yelling and running around all over the dorms in mid-day. The other vampires told him to shut up.
But it's obvious that the other vampires don't like him, either. Asato Ichijou is a very terrifying individual. Takuma doesn't like it.
Eventually, Takuma ends up putting his foot down and declares that he'll end the Ichijou line because his grandfather's rein of terror needed to stop before he hurt any more of his friends. His grandfather is extremely powerful, so he expected to die along with him.
He ends up killing his grandfather and when he wakes up from being unconscious for a long time, he feels absolutely no remorse. Saying that "I thought I would feel more sad about it than I actually am.."

His grandfather promised him the company and his seat in the vampire Council after he retired, but the Vampire Council had been abolished with his grandfather's death.

We don't get to see his direct opinions about the Ichijou Corporation. But from his personality, if he actually got to take over the company, he'd make sure to change it for the better. He'd make it a Corporation to bring peace between the humans and vampires instead of a Corporation to instill fear into others through how powerful it is. Unfortunately, in his most recent canon, he doesn't get the liberty of owning his company because his Pureblood captor is using his name and face to control it.

But this personality in his most recent canon is a lot different from the one he has now in his more carefree days of freedom.

Takuma is probably one of the view vampires that actually likes humans. Or rather, he doesn't mind them. On campus, he'd sneak into the Day Class's Tea Ceremony Club and he was the vampire that was the go between for the Night Class and Day Class since he's so gentle towards humans. He's gentle towards everybody, really.

The main character, Yuuki, commented that Takuma was the most human-like out of all the vampires.

He's also the only vampire seen interacting on a friendly level with the Day Class. He actually danced with the Day Class students at the Night and Day Class ball. Not like the other Night Class students that just stuck with their own kind.

He isn't seen with a human friend, but that's because the interaction between the Night and Day Class students was scarce. With his personality, he'll make friends with just about anybody.

Takuma's view on the vampire hierarchy is also not very touched on. But he often calls Purebloods reckless because they'll just do what they want to because of the power they hold. Takuma is actually very high in the hierarchy. A lot of the other nobles will use the honorific "-sama" when saying his name. This is because he's from the very first noble family. His relationship with the Purebloods is a very close one and he's most desirable because of his closeness with the Royal Kuran Family.
He's also the only one that will use more familiar honorifics with the purebloods. For example, he just called Kaname by his first name with no honorifics. (Partially because they're best friends). He also calls Sara Shirabuki just "Sara-san" and not "Sara-sama" or "Shirabuki-Sama".
This is partly because he's just a very casual person and partly because he's so high on the hierarchy tier.
But it is the way it is and he doesn't have that much of an opinion on it. He's the type that would say "It's very complicated to explain", shrug, then move on with the conversation.

His parents whereabouts are unknown. They're still alive, but they were estranged from his grandfather and all that's known is that he was raised directly by his grandfather. His father is an actor and his mother owns an ikebana (Flower arranging school). How his grandfather got ahold of Takuma and why his parents didn't raise him is unknown. But we haven't seen or heard anything of them other than the fan guide. And even in the fan guide, we just see his parents' occupations under his section. (No pictures or names).

His self-sacrificing nature comes from his care of his friends. His friends have been there for him and vise-versa. They come to each others' aid and if it means jumping in front of an angry, powerful, raging Pureblood, cutting down the most powerful noble who is also his own blood, or suffering in silence under being captured by a crazy Pureblood princess, he'll do it.

He'd risk his life if it meant doing the right thing. Just like when he fought his grandfather.
After he was captured by Sara Shirabuki, she demanded that he tell her everything he knew about Kaname Kuran. He refused her request with a bright smile saying "Why don't you ask him directly about it?" And promptly got his wound on his heart re-opened. He knows very well what Purebloods are capable of and he wouldn't reveal such information and secrets about his best friends to someone like that because it's wrong.

Think of a cheerful, valiant, dutiful prince, and that's Takuma in a nutshell.

(Even though in recent canon, he's a damsel distress, but that's far later than where I'm taking him)

Overall, he’s a very cute character, his personality being helpful and fun. He likes to think of things to do that are “fun”. Like pillow fights and sleep-overs and things like that.

Character Abilities: Being a vampire, Takuma, of course, has the basic vampire abilities. He has superhuman senses, sight, scent, and hearing. He also has superhuman strength, speed, and agility. He isn’t seen using his strength, though, being a pacifist and all. He also has the ability to molecularly destroy objects. He uses his katana as a medium for this, turning things into a gaseous or dust state. He also has super healing abilities where his wounds can close up in a matter of seconds and can survive fatal wounds such as a partially cut out heart.

He is also well versed in swordplay, being and expert at using a katana.

He also has a good intuition. Sometimes it just sounds like he’s being whimsical and quoting something from a book he read, but he usually knows a bad situation when he sees one. His sense of justice helps him to right what was wrong. For example killing his grandfather after he had wronged so many people and preventing anyone else from getting hurt.

He’s got excellent social prowess. Being the grandson of a major company owner, he could probably charm the rattler off of a snake. It pays being gorgeous, kind, and an excellent conversationalist.

Character Weaknesses: Well lucky for him, he’d be in bright and sunny Nevada where he’s easily weakened by the sun’s harsh rays. He can’t stay in it for too long or else his energy depletes and it hurts his sensitive eyes and skin. So unless he’s under an umbrella all day, the sun does more harm than good.

He’s also self-sacrificing which can be a strength and a weakness. The weakness aspect of it is that if he bites off more than he can chew, then he could be in a world of hurt or even in mortal danger.

He can be rather…ditzy. While he’s not stupid, far from it, actually, he can be a bit spacey. Though, he can focus when needed, it could also be a weakness if certain situations happen.

[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]

What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign?

-His advanced senses. (hearing, smell, eyesight) To the extent of being able to see in very dim lights where some humans would have trouble, and having 20/10 vision which is better than perfect, but it exists. (My mother had 20/10 vision). His sense of smell would be good enough to pick out peoples' scents on a human scale. (Just very sensitive smell. Like how a child is more comfortable with a blanket that their mother slept with first because of the smell). And hearing to the point of being extremely bothered by the "mosquito" pitch. (You know, those cell phone ring tones that are unable to be heard by older people, but young people can hear it and it can bother the crap out of people with sensitive hearing).

-Having above-average speed.

-Healing quicker than normal- I guess on the scale of someone being a fast healer. And not getting sick often that often. (Especially since he normally can't get sick, but now he'd be able to, just not easily).

What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign?

-He would probably retain all of his weaknesses since they’re more personality flaws than anything else.

-He would lose his resilience, however. Since he’s used to getting hurt and it healing automatically, that would definitely be something he would also get used to.

[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Meister: Takuma is the kind of person who controls his weapon, not the other way around. He doesn’t have a set katana that he holds dear to him. He can perform with any katana, really. He also is the kind of person that you can trust with yourself. Canonly, he is the only person whom Kaname trusts wholeheartedly. (Other than Yuuki, of course, but…) Being that type of person, a Weapon could trust themselves in his capable hands and know that they’d be treated with kindness and friendship.

Meister Ability:

-Soul Boost: This would more tie into his vampiric nature and abilities. He is also driven more by friends, so holding his weapon (Which would most likely be a friend) could boost his energy, strength, etc to ensure that they would win.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Soul Description: Cheerful, Kind, Bright, Energetic, Ditzy, and Playful.

Soul Appearance:

It would probably float around drifting from spot to spot.

[ SAMPLES ]

First Person:

[Text]

This is all so strange! Everything has been explained to me, so I understand…somewhat, but it’s still so strange! I feel like I was pulled into a manga. Like a shounen manga with a lot of interesting characters all fighting for the same goal for different purposes.

Ah…but like Albarn-san said to us when we arrived, we are either a Meister or a Weapon. It’s interesting that I became a Meister! I wonder what kind of ability I have.

I know I don’t have any of my past abilities anymore, but ah well, I didn’t use them as much as I could have.

If I chose a weapon, I wonder what person I would choose.

Maybe a tea cup…hm…I don’t see how that would aid in fighting in any way, but it would be convenient if all of my teacups were dirty and I was thirsty.

Ah. I got distracted.

Would anyone like to be my partner?

Third Person:

After a long night of whimsical playtime with his friends at the Aidou vacation home, Takuma closed his emerald eyes, his room shielded from the sun by thick curtains as well as a breezy canopy bed. It was about noon and he was finally going to bed well after the other vampires headed to sleep when the sun was well into the sky. He being the ‘day bird’, he stayed up far later than any vampire would really want to. He was a strange one, after all.

Slowly, he started drifting to sleep, but something was odd. Instead of the usually tug and pull of slumber, he felt something else being pulled. It felt deeper than his mind, like something was tapping into his very being. He furrowed his brows slightly and promptly “fell asleep”.

The next thing he knew, his eyes snapped open and he was lying on the floor of a strange place. The blond sat up and his willowy frame wavered a bit from the quick position change.

His bright eyes seemed to light up slightly in the dark room. An awed noise escaped his lips in a small breath and slowly, he stood up, looking around.

Caution tape, shrine-esque scenery that looked like it had seen better days, and chains. In Takuma’s mind, that could only mean one thing….

A mysterious spirit demon murder!

That was when the giant screens flashed on and his attention was immediately focused on what was about to show.

[ NOTES ]
His sort of vampire doesn’t need blood, but they crave it still as if they did need it.. He also has no need for food. They just eat food for leisure and pleasure. They can get gluttonous if they get going and really like what they’re eating.
