First things first, Matt and I are engaged! It's been a smorgasboard of excitement. We told everyone we wanted to tell in person, and now have put it on the facebook. I have bridal magazines everywhere, we've already set the date, and after graduation our families met (with Lauren too) for a giant engagement dinner. Everyone knew except for my sisters who I had wanted to tell in person. They were really shook up, and Ashley cried. But I think they're starting to get used to the idea and become excited. Wedding planning is what I was born to do. It's going to be the girliest 18 months of my life. I LOVE IT!
When Matt and I have any sort of disagreement or contest, we use as betting chips who gets to name one of our future kids. So far he's got the first two. Matt is always, always right. And I know this, but it doesn't deter my stubbornness.
I graduated, and against all odds, passed all my classes so I only have my senior design class left to take this summer. Hell yes!
Also, I was almost killed by a tornado. Needless to say, my tornado nightmares have kicked into overdrive.
And I was really frightened for my safety a few nights ago while Matt was at work overnight, so he instructed me over the phone how to chamber a bullet and shoot his gun. I didn't even get it out from its hiding place, but I sat with the lights low and a knife next to me. And yesterday I bought mace. Because I'm not really sure if when it came down to it, I could make myself stab or shoot my attacker.
Matt and I went to Fiesta Tejas with two of his friends and their girlfriends. It was balls hot, but completely empty and we got on every ride with zero wait. Which sounds good in theory, but you really need a few minutes in between roller coasters. So we all ended up getting kinda nauseous as the day went on. Afterwards we drove to the diner we went to 2 years ago with our old group at 4AM the night of Matt's 21st Bday. It was closed, and now is a seafood/mexican restaurant. Gross. So we had an awkward dinner at the riverwalk, followed by 45 minutes of not being able to find our way out of downtown.
Chase is in town right now. We talked wedding details for a long time, and he and Matt rocked out the SNES, and its been a generally glorious time.
So basicalky, I am on cloud 9. And I imagine that to look like one of the Care Bear cloud cars. Mine will be pink and Matt's will be purple (because he's colorblind and will think it's blue, and I'll be secretly giggling in my cloud car).
