Some Notes on Repunzel

Nov 06, 2011 16:31

Repunzel battles with depression, to an extent - or perhaps just an epic pessimism. The only people she ever knew was her mother (who had apparently kidnapped her), and her ex-boyfriend (who killed her mother.) Her knowledge of the world comes from books, mostly fiction - giving her an understanding of basic concepts, but little idea how to put them into place... though she claims she doesn't live in a fairy tale, she often expresses herself as if she does.

Her basic personality, the relative innocence of the world in which she was raised, and the recent trauma has had a rather odd effect on her personality:

On the one hand, Repunzel views the world as a dark and dreary place, filled with pain and hurt; where love is a dark and painful thing, to be considered "annoying," at best, where friends undoubtedly have terrible secrets, and where your best bet is to be shoved out a window before the pain grows too great and you snap.

On the other hand "Squeee! Puppy!!!!!!"

Basically, she tends to flit between cheerfully curious, and morosely morbid, depending on the current matter at hand.

There's only one real constant in her life: She's lonely.
