Stark Industries, Monday Evening

After enjoying his female form, Tony had been... maybe just a tiny bit obsessed with working in his lab. There had been ideas for better systems and more streamlined suits that came up while stuck in Japan. So he was starting work on yet another version ( Read more... )

Tony had disappeared. Again. Tyler had found Nathan, so he was fairly certain nobody had traveled back in time this time. Which meant they had to go and drag Tony out of the lab before he grew roots there.

"Do you think he's left the building?" he asked Nathan. They'd done the greeting thing, and Tyler had more questions, but just then he kind of wanted to make sure Tony hadn't starved to death or anything.

"I have my doubts," Nathan replied amiably, rolling his eyes a little. He was taking it slowly as he walked, yes, if only because he was too damn proud to limp too obviously if he could help it.

He wouldn't be jumping in front of gatling guns again anytime soon. Truly.

"There isn't exactly electricity in the mountains of Japan in 1877, after all. The man's obviously on withdrawls."

Tyler eyed the near-limp but said nothing, though he did slow his pace to match Nathan's. "I bet. He managed to blend in okay?"

"Tyler, if Tony Stark ever allows himself to blend in, the world would probably just up and end right then and there." He glanced around the room, and then back to Tyler. "You'll have to hunt him down, I think. Places like these still confuse the hell out of me."

"It's a little over my head, too," Tyler announced, but looked to the ceiling. "Jarvis, where's Tony?"

"Mr. Stark is where he has been since Saturday morning; in the lab, Mr. Durden."

"This is my surprised face," Tyler deadpanned almost under his breath, then gestured to Nathan. "This way. We might have to tackle him or something."

He walked purposefully down toward the lab.

And Nathan, of course, followed along behind. No, he absolutely wasn't joking when he said that places like this one were above his head. He was well over a century out of his league, here.

Still and all, to his credit, he managed not to gape too much at the things they were walking past. No, he gaped just enough, damn it. Enough that he did actually manage to notice Tony up ahead. Gold star for Nathan.

"Well," Nathan said, lingering back and tucking his thumbs into his pockets, "I suppose we didn't need to ask where to find you, after all. We could have simply followed the smell."

Tony, who was busy soldering something tiny to something else tiny. "Light."

One of the robots moved slightly as if to try and anticipate what he needed.

"No, there," He snapped, moving it to the right place. "I swear, I'm giving you to Tyler for his class."

"What are you giving me?" Tyler asked, loudly, and with a hand on Tony's shoulder.

He was ignoring the aroma. It was only polite.

Tony blinked, looking up at the hand at his shoulder. "...Tyler? Weren't you just here?"

"Saturday morning," Tyler said. "It's Monday. Night."

"... are you wearing the same clothes?"

"They would have to be," Nathan noted, still from a few paces back, yes. Possibly because he didn't want to put forth that much effort just so that he could put up with eau d'unwashed Tony.

It was a special smell. Even to a guy who grew up on a farm.

He hadn't noticed. Or his sense of smell died somewhere on Sunday.

"Huh. No wonder I ran out of coffee."

Tyler hated taking care of other people, but he did it when he felt he had to. He was just bossy about it.

"Shower," he said, not terribly gently. "Then, clean clothes. Then, we go get enchiladas."

"The robots will be fine for two hours."

"I don't smell that--" A beat as he sniffed the air. "--Shower," Tony agreed, carefully, putting the tools down and looking as though he was memorizing it before roboticaly heading toward the stairs to get to the shower.
