Am leaning more and more towards Daisho-Con, actually. I think I'm burned out on Tardis-Con, to be honest. Not thrilled with the media guests, and the writer-guests that I'm most familiar with won't be there. Just about the only reason to go would be to MAYBE spend some time with
neadods. -- oh, and having already purchased a 3-day general membership, and being familiar with the route into Lombard.
Daisho-Con is in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Dells, to be precise. There is a fairly direct route that does not involve Tollways or Chicago suburb traffic. I have never been to the Wisconsin Dells, although I suspect the November is not an ideal time to visit. It would be something different. It would NOT be complicated by holiday weekend traffic. It is roughly the same distance and travel time. Daughter wants to go to Daisho-Con. There is a possibility that Daughter's boyfriend would also be there. That would be okay by me, as he could help with the cost of the room (Comparable to Westin Lombard in price -- I do NOT have a room reservation yet for TARDIS-Con). I like the look of the Daisho-Con hotel and amenities.
Tardis-Con does not 'roll-over' memberships to a following year, nor do they give refunds except in proven emergency situation. They WILL allow a TRANSFER of a membership under certain conditions....
Anyone out there want a 3-day general admission membership for TARDIS-Con?
