so we travelled six hours down south to fukuoka to where amy's family lives. we speak little japanese, they speak littler english, so we get along pretty well. half the time we have no idea what is going on or where they are taking us, but the element of suprise is pretty awesome. we're sleeping on the tatami floor, japanese style. her uncles pretty loaded, so we're going on his yacht tomorrow. i think i will get seasick and vomit.
speaking of vomit, i got the most drunk i have ever been in my life on thursday. in japan, they dont have bars persay, but little pubs where you sit, and eat and drink. we found this one drink to get drunk institution, had many 400 yen kamikazes, hit on many japanese bartenders, fell 4 feet off the bar onto the floor, threw up in the lobby of our 4 star hotel, and basically made an ass out of myself. it was pretty fucking funny. gratefully the people who work at gas panic live halfway across the world and i will probably never see them again.
asides from drinking too much, we have been exploring all types of japan. we've been to the tsukiji fish market (for the freshest sushi ever), temples in asakusa, shopping in harajuku, and saw the daibutsu (giant buddha) in kamakura. seriously, this thing is unreal. its this 50 foot buddha that was constructed in like 1250. i'll upload photos when i get home, its fucking sick. we also attended this festival in osaka, with lots of dancing, and traditional and neo japanese stuff.
fukuokas kinda boring. they have a shopping mall, and when we went to check it out there was this awesome japanese ska band led by a japanese guy in an indian costume playing a free show. theyre called 'japanese geronimo and love guerilla experience'. i bought their cd. hmm, what else. we're going to a japanese hardcore show this saturday, and we found a cool punk rock bar called garage land.
and i'm still trying to find my husband.
