[Tsukasa's in the Science Center, believe it or not, and he's in the technology section. Despite not having his magic back, he's still got his staff with him. Of course, none of the "normal" citizens of Template can see him. He wanders over to the area where it talks about programming code. Of course, he doesn't really understand what the code ( Read more... )

[She's humming a little as she walks around. She's not very good at science, but...but she likes it here, and it's all bright and nice and...well. She doesn't know where her friends are. Well, the ones she knew before. But she's not allowed to be sad or upset about it, because...well, she'd be such a burden. But science is nice. She likes science. So she smiles when she notices Tsukasa.]

Hello, Tsukasa! Um, what are you looking at?

[He looks over at Colette. Oh.]

It's computer code. I don't really understand it...

So, that's a computer? What do they do?

[Head tilt]

They have codes? Does that mean they have secrets, too?

They can do all sorts of things, really... whatever people program them to do.

No, "computer code" is basically... the language computers speak. The computer takes in the code and does whatever it tells it to do.

People program them? So, if I wanted to, um, draw on a computer, I just...write a bunch of stuff in it, and that'd make it draw?

Wow! I only know two languages! I didn't know you could talk to machines! I--I wanna talk to it.

... Basically, but you have to know the right things to tell it. It's like... instructions.

I don't know how to write code, though...

Well, we can try asking it nicely!

[Types in "Please help!". In English. Oh, Colette.]

[The display computer beeps. 'Please define variables.']

... I don't think that worked.

[Reads the computer screen and grins!]

All we have to do is define a variable! [Pause] What's a variable?

[Enters that into the computer. Oh, that poor, poor computer]

[Yeah it's just beeping at them. Tsukasa is trying not to laugh.]

[Mean computer is mean. Derp Colette is Derp.]

Oh. Why isn't it working? Do we have to type something else--Oh! That code. We've um, gotta know the code, don't we? Is it like a secret word?

I think it's like a bunch of symbols. But... I don't know which ones. ... We probably shouldn't try too hard, because I don't know what it might do.

Symbols? Oh! Like this one? [Presses a few of the symbols on the keys, and then the screen turns blue. Oh, no.]

Hey! I did something!
