The Kennedy Center, DC, Wednesday evening

The portal left the two of them standing in front of a huge building next to a river, where the light from the facade reflected in the water. People were gathering in front of the entrance. Ichabod recognized the place from images he had seen on the internet, when Eleanor had helped him arrange tickets. She had told him this was a large concert hall, even by modern standards. He glanced at Celia, smiled, and let go of her hand in order to pull out the tickets from his pocket and offering her one.

The program for tonight was Symphony No 5 in D Major by Mendelssohn, Violon Concerto in D Minor by Schumann and finally Symphony No 41 in C Major by Mozart. Composers from both the 18th and the 19th century should offer them both something new and something familiar.

[for Celia, of course]
