[RL with Orochimaru: Fearless...]

Clary had many pictures of various worlds drawn and kept in a special portfolio in her room. Some were of the few places she had visited, and others were only of worlds she had seen others speak of and researched herself. Each picture was hand drawn and nearly flawless in detail, as was Clary's talent. She had plenty of pictures of certain worlds, ( Read more... )

As Clary walked through the forest that surrounded the Hidden Leaf village she couldn't help but notice how peaceful it was. The trees were beautiful. They looked so alive, so healthy. Nothing like what she had seen back home, but she had grown up in a large city. Their wildlife was forced, barely natural anymore. The wildlife here was a product of the earth itself, no added chemicals. It looked amazing and intrigued her inner artist. Maybe, if she ever got the chance, she would come back and paint the scenery as she saw it. She wondered if she would get the chance, though.

Coming after Orochimaru, by herself, was a mixture of so many thoughts and emotions right now. Clary was at a delicate time in her life. Her whole world had changed in a matter of weeks and she was finding it hard to keep up suddenly. Especially when she was supposed to be able to fight off the demons and defend her world but still had problems wielding a blade as good as her companions. And she had no true experience with runes, either. Jace, Alec, Isabelle, they were true Shadowhunters, and she wanted to prove to them that she could be useful to them. But that wasn't all that brought her here. It was mostly the need to keep others from getting hurt now. She was afraid Orochimaru might kill another innocent due to her taunting.

Walking ten kilometres seemed to take no time at all. Clary had always been active as a child and her natural Shadowhunter abilities made physical activity all the easier on her. Still, she was no vampire, so she hadn't arrived their in minutes. Clary shuddered at the sight of him. He looked creepier in person. Not scarier, she had imagined he might look something like this, just strange and creepy. She took a deep breath before stepping into the clearing, appearing as calm as she could.

"Wow, I didn't actually expect you to show up, Geezer. I thought your heart would have given out before you could arrive," She taunted. Taunting people was almost like a drug to her. She couldn't stop. Her 'father' said she got it from her mother, and maybe she did because Jace had the same personality she did.

The real Orochimaru smirked slightly as he continued to keep his balance. Silently, he hopped his way closer to the scene, now only a few trees back. Though still masked by the massive amounts of branches, he was able to get a better view of the situation. He scoffed slightly at the sight of her. So she really was just a girl? How disappointing. Though, her witty mouth would say otherwise. Unfortunately, that wouldn't save her in this situation.

Normally, Orochimaru would continue to avoid this girl's taunts but as of recently, he was on edge. What with the rather unfortunate "experience" with Tobi and then the virus right afterwards... it was too much. He did indeed, plan on relieving his stress on somebody else, and already the search for volunteers was becoming easier. Despite his massive amounts of enemies, those who did serve under him typically displayed nothing but submission. That was of course, if they showed any defiance he would kill them.

The snake Sannin smirked slightly at her immediate mockery. Already, she was making gross errors. Cute.

The clone stood up, also displaying a eerily wide grin. "It" let out a brief, "Heh," before leaping off the rock and behind Clary. It's arms shot out and extended to an inhuman length, aiming to wrap around the girl.

Clary smirked. He had done exactly as she expected him to. The black marks, that could have been mistaken for tribal tattoos, burned on Clary's skin with the expectation to be used. And now she put them in action. Her enhanced speed from the angel blood that coursed through her veins increased as Orochimaru appeared behind her. She was out of reach of the arms in a matter of moments. She dropped to the ground to make sure they didn't wrap around her and she readied herself for her next move.

"Too slow, old man. Must be a disability from your age," She shot at him. She wanted a response, something more than a laugh. Her personal attacks worked best with responses. Besides, it made her laugh to see aggravate others.

Clary reached into her back pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a bladeless hilt. She brought the hilt to her lips and whispered to it. It shown brightly and suddenly a long silver dagger formed on the end. The dagger and hilt had runes engraved into them, making them the perfect weapons for a Shadowhunter. When Orochimaru's arms came close enough to her she pulled the blade up and brought it down in a swift motion in an attempt to cut it off.

Oho! She was a fast one. Orochimaru's smirk turned into a faint smile. Perhaps this would prove to be somewhat of a challenge after all. Other than his encounter with Ash, this was his first experience meeting with someone from another world.

The arms of course, missed, and began to recoil. Unfortunately, they didn't fast enough, for within seconds, the left arm was lopped off. It fell to the ground, disintegrating into a pile of mud. The now, practically useless clone, bolted up to her, making an slew of outlandish swings and kicks.

Orochimaru himself, grimaced slightly. If that indeed was his real arm, history would be repeating itself. Oh my. That would be rather unfortunate. The Sannin found the amused smile twisting into a sneer. Almost unconsciously, he began making his next move. He didn't move from the tree. Instead, his neck extended within a matter of seconds, sailing toward the squabble below him and attempting to constrict around the girl's bladed arm.

Clary watched the arm fall to the ground and change to mud. It wasn't the real him. It was one of those clones. Which meant he was out there watching the whole thing. She cursed under her breath and was about to search for him when the clone attacked her again. She raised her arms up and blocked his attacks. She was too busy being on defense the she didn't have time to attack.

As Clary stepped back to give herself distance in the fight she noticed Orochimaru, the real one. She tried to pull back in time but his neck was already around her arm. She shivered at the thought. Watching it on anime was one thing, having it happen to you live was a complete other thing. And extremely creepy. She didn't pay him any notice yet. She was still dealing with the clone.

Clary reached into her back pocket and pulled out another hilt. She whispered the name again and another blade appeared. In a matter of seconds she lodged the blad in the chest of the clone, twisted it and pulled out.

"So there you are. I didn't think this was the real you. He looked to good," She sneered at Orochimaru as she tried to pull her arm free from him.

The clone didn't cry out. Instead, its face erupted to that of shock and immense pain. It collapsed to the ground from the stab, falling to the ground and also disintegrating.

Orochimaru would have been offended by her insult, had he actually given a damn. He was more than delighted to have his old body, but he could care less what others thought. After all, he wasn't a man, he wasn't even a snake... he was immortal.

His abruptly twisted his neck to the side, attempting to do some sort of damage to Clary's arm, or at least make her drop the weapon. Then, he promptly reeled his neck back in, shrinking back into the image of a "regular" man. The Sannin leaped out of the trees and to the ground in a crouching position, about a yard from Clary.

"Well, well, well. You are cute, but not really my type. Perhaps we can work on that though."

Clary felt her arm twist into a bad position as the Sannin jerked his neck abruptly. She bit back a yelp but let go of the blade. She needed to remember to grab that later. That and her sketchbook. She couldn't get home without the book and she might as well not go home without the blade, Jace would kill her.

She resisted a shudder as he spoke to her. "Ew ew ew! Don't ever say something so disgusting again!" She shot at him. It really did horrify that he would say something like that, thought she knew he was looking for a reaction.

"Good of you to finally show your face instead of sending fakes to do your dirty work. Or were you just scared of me?" She asked him, glaring at him. She positioned her blade in a defensive position, holding her other arm up. Her wrist hurt like hell, she hoped it wasn't sprained. She still had her healing rune, but that was for later. Too soon for that now.

The snake sannin raised one slim eyebrow at her overreaction. Of course he meant it as a compliment! In his own, rather wickedly sick way. Though, he usually only jested such sarcastic remarks if they actually impressed him in some way. Though, he couldn't help but smirk as she now clung to her defensive stance.

Orochimaru simply stood there, seemingly as relaxed as ever. He folded his arms, his smirk twisting into a sadistic grin. Serpentine eyes were now locked onto the girl's. "I just wanted to see what you were capable of," he lightly retorted.

Without another word, he twisted his hands together, summoning his next jutsu. A sudden wind picked up around him. Abruptly, he thrust both arms forward, blasting the somehow visible spiral of winds at her.

"Come on girl! I want you to attack me! Or are you afraid?"

Clary hadn't expected the sudden attack. She wasn't paying well enough attention, which in this fight could cost her her life. The attack hit her hard, she dug her heels into the ground, her arms raised to keep her steady. He was strong, she gave him that. She would have to try being more clever than he was, if that was possible. Still, she had things he didn't. Powers he could never have. She'd have to figure a way out of this.

Finally, she gathered her strength to move from the line of attack. In one swift move she stepped to the side, making sure to hold the blade in her uninjured wrist.

"Eager for defeat? Fine," She muttered.

With that she raised her blade and ran towards Orochimaru. She should have been more prepared for long-range attacks, but it was too late for that now.
