So like - I'm at work and I seem to revert back to the old ways of running on no sleep for 2-3 days. I thought I broke out of that habit when I started working but I'm a little OC, so when the mood strikes me - my mind doesn't stop working. Getting excited over random bits of news also get my adrenaline going. So huge phail. On a different, less whiney note - David Cook won AI.
I was really surprised - don't get me wrong - I like him, no, wait. I love the guy. But for the first time in the entire season, I actually thought Archie was good, albeit during the finale. I loved Cook's stuff, he made the whatever song (2nd one) sound good and paid homage to Collective Soul. Squee points for him. Can't say he paid homage to U2 (not his choice) but his rendition was sexapific. But I agreed that Archie sounded fantastic - the only drawback (and I think it was a huge one) was that he looked awkward and not at all like a star. Poor kid - I like his voice but I don't want to watch him perform. It looked painful.
Having said that though, I loved how he performed with Cook . I saw the kid's potential when he performed with One Republic. I think he plays off a lot better when there are other performers, he seems to be more comfortable and not like a deer in headlights. If he had stuck to that kind of genre that OR plays (what is that ?!) - I doubt he'd be boring and predictable as he had been for me since he started performing. Heck, I liked Imagine. Then it all stopped there. Week after week, he was like a ballad churning machine. Cute but no thanks. I'll take adult men any day.
