I spent my entire free period in the library. Typical geeky Willow, the chronic overachiever. Well, it wasn't like I really had that many close friends. I mean, there was Xander, and I did talk to Amy every once in a while, but other than that I wasn't much with the partying. And it really wasn't over-achievement as, say, a thirst for knowledge.
Anyway, what was more interesting than learning about the hundred year war? Wars are generally fun to study, not so much to live in. I mean, weaponry and death and all of these lovely facts seem nifty, until it's you dying because of them. To make everything more confusing, wars weren't even named properly. The "hundred year" war? It lasted for nearly 200 years! More than, if my calculations were correct.
I tapped the tip of my pencil against the paper, deep in thought. If I managed to stop my work now, I could probably grab some lunch.
Shrugging I turned back to the book I had fished out of the stacks. Who need lunch when you could rest in a place like this? The lunchroom reminded me of a warzone, with everyone pushing and shoving for scraps.
And one thing was certain. I really didn't want to be in any warzones, on or off a real battlefield.
