The Affairs of the Babysitting Assassins (Nobodies, that is.)
((Takes place a day or two after mini!Basi and Axel confronts Kuja.))
He's fed the kid ice cream, vegetables, and fruit juice. There had been a moment or two there where Axel was pretty sure shadows would be attacking him, shadows he's been able to control for most of his Nobody life (how dare they betray him, even if they weren't shadows from his world?), especially when he had offered a few blankets and tried to bed Terebas down at the foot of his bed like she was some pet.
Big mistake.
Either way, there was no way he'd take her to The World That Never Was. Aside from the fact that he couldn't even explain how he'd come into possession of one dark child, (one that he's maybe friends with to boot,) but his colleagues would laugh their coats off at Axel pretending to play the pseudo-parent.
But who could he get to watch her? Axel was a suspicious bastard by instinctive nature and couldn't just trust anyone to keep her safe and not snatch her away once they saw her potential power.
Asking his alternate was way beyond out of the question.
Oh well. He'll figure something out.
