Well this is my first Chuck fic and second fic in general so it's probably not that great, but since there isn't much for Chuck fan fiction yet I thought I would add mine to the stack :)

Title: Sarah Vs. The Pentothal
Author: Justine Johnson (not_about_2_try) me :D
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Chuck Vs. The Truth
Genre/Ship: Chuck/Sarah if any. Kind of a sad one shot =/
Summary: The inner thoughts of Sarah during the end of the episode.
“You and me… us. Our thing under the undercover thing... is this ever going anywhere?”
Her heart was beating in her ears. The pentothal was really taking its toll. Even though her training in the CIA had taught her how to negate the effects of the truth serum, doing so took a lot of mental effort. She had already called Kasey her partner because she responded too quickly. A slip up that thankfully didn’t hurt anything, but just gave proof that she wasn’t immune to the drugs effects.
Now she was being faced with a question that if it were to be answered truthfully, could jeopardize the whole operation and possibly Chuck’s life.
She could feel her blood pumping through her veins as her heart continued to thud louder in her eardrums. Chuck had just asked if there was something real under their façade of boyfriend-girlfriend. His expression was hopeful along with fearful that his mind had been playing tricks on him these last two months.
The word “yes” rose to her lips more than once, but the mental battle to suppress the serum was winning out.
She would be lying to herself if she said she hadn’t felt something more for Chuck then just the need to protect “the Intersect” for her jobs sake. She had defiantly grown to love his goofy smile, sweet innocence, the way he gets nervous around her, and his constant trust in people. But as she learned with Bryce, mixing work with her love life didn’t end well. She had to lie in order to do her job the way she was taught; no emotion.
Finally feeling as though it was safe to speak free of the serum’s spell, the lie that would protect them both began to spill out.
“I’m sorry Chuck…”
Her heart was beating so rapidly that there was a low humming noise in her ears. She had to look down in order to prevent blurting out the truth. Saying the next word would take all of her inner strength.
“No.”
In order to make sure he believed her, she kept direct eye contact the whole time. The total deflation and heartbreak that appeared in his expressive eyes was what made that particular task the most difficult. As she watched him down the antidote while sporting the look of a kicked puppy, she knew she had successfully pushed Chuck Bartowski away.
She quickly brushed past him so she didn’t have to gaze into those heart-wrenching eyes any longer.
Sarah’s mission is to keep the intersect safe at all costs. The feelings of an agent aren’t important so it’s a good thing the antidote worked. It makes lying to herself a lot easier.
