He walked into the next room, which held two turian C-Sec guards, a man on a chair, and Shepard. The man was unconscious. Or at least, he had been. Now he stirred, eyes opening, first groggy, then wide.
"What. I--" The man jerked entirely upright. "What's happening?!"
From a corner, behind a stack of research materials, a tall, shapely robot commented, "His name is Derek Hadley."

Derek's eyes went wide. "What...? No!" He shot a panicked look across the room, and spotted the prone body lying on the floor. He hurled himself out of his chair at the body's side. "I'd never do something like that! I swear! You have to believe me!"

"This does resemble reports of indoctrination," the robot in the corner said. Kaidan looked up and met her eyes.
"What EDI means," he said, for Jack and Allie's sake, "Is that the Reapers have a way of... mind-controlling people when they're in close proximity. It's not usually quite like this, but... it does sound a little like it."
"Indoctrination?" Derek said, as he rose to his feet. "Me?"
