I am sorry, but the only thing I cannot swallow about this past match is that Scholes was not punished.

That is just wrong.

How many times do we have to see behavior like neck-grabbing or wild, lunging tackles go unpunished?

We lost, United were the better team, but that is just so fucking wrong.

arsenal, footie

ohmygod. I'm sorry I am ranting to you but...

This person on Twitter is arguing with me about whether or not Scholes should be sent off. I am trying to get him/her to understand I am not picking on Scholes but I am picking up on reckless endangerment on general and they are just. not. getting. it.

Why do people think that it is ever okay to tackle like that? Yes, no one got hurt, but it's the principle of the matter isn't it? To stop such tackles and injuries from happening, decisions have to be strict no matter the conditions. (S)he is saying that just because it was the end of the game and no one got hurt, it was 'common sense' from the referee? Where is the common sense?!

I've seen my share of horrific injuries and it totally scars you. Aaron Ramsey, Dudu... And they were out for at least a year. Refereeing needs to be strict and consistent if tackles like that are to be stamped out, or else players will think they can still get away with it.

SMH.

*hugs* You guys deserved it. I hate to say it, but you did.

And I can't help it bb! If it wasn't for him... DAMN. He's fantastic.

Duh... I'm afraid you won't be able to convince some people. E.g. too many are still convinced that football needs to be harsh because 'it's no ballett'.
And others just don't think that rules should be interpreted as they are written always. Usually, I understand what they mean, but not when it comes to dangerous play. The rules of a game should be adhereed to as they are, strictly, end of story, but also as long as it goes along with common sense, yes. Because the ref should be able to decide from case to case, that's what they are taught. But to say that in this case it was common sense... I just don't see it :/ That's bullshit, the argument is really very weak considerinhg how Scholes was pushing it for another card.

*hugs* You were good all the same. Besides, if you had a better aim and did not shot straight at our keeper a couple of times... u.ù ... you just want to damage him...
