So, that Samurai thing…
The opening: Hearing a roll call was kind of odd.
A red ranger who is competent and acts like a leader? It's so crazy it just might work!
Kevin: Why so serious?
I love Mike and his B-boy moves! He's dumb as a bag of hammers, but he still outsmarted the Nylok.
It's like we've got the Ninja Storm villains minus Lothor, Marah, and Capri. Meh.
The stuff about Mike not being able to hang out with his friends anymore made me feel sympathetic toward him but not sure if too many viewers will relate.
Like the morphs
Mega mode: I guess I can live with it. The cockpit is nice looking.
Visor eyes: I can live with it if it's not done too often.
I don't dislike Spike as much as a lot of other people. Kinda screetchy but he pairs well with Bulk. Not as well as Bulk and Skull, but well enough.
They're going to have to find a way to tie the Bulk and Spike scenes to the rangers.
It was a different way to open a series. Start with a complete team and later (I assume) show how the team got together. If the audience gets to know the characters as rangers first maybe they will be more interested in the episodes that give the back story.
The episode met most of my expectations and I'm looking forward to more.
