Beachcomber Top

Apr 25, 2007 09:19

In the spirit of being a bit more professional, or possibly just more snobbish, I decided that I should name the things I design.

Hence; Beachcomber. More under cut, picture heavy.

Beachcomber is a knitted top, made with Patons Flower Garden, a cotton mix yarn with little pompom-looking things all over it. I named it Beachcomber because the blues and sand colours, and the wavy edging, reminded me of a beach. Also, the slubby nature of the yarn gives this top a laid-back, casual look.

The body of the top is knit in the round and the straps are knit separately and sewed on afterwards.

This was very easy and fun to make, and I am very happy with the result. :-) It's comfy.

Thanks to my dad, who found the yarn store and drove me there to get the yarn.

I'm now designing a mohair shrug, with possibly the most beautiful yarn in the world. I took a swatch to show WP and we agreed that it looks like unicorn skin. :-)
