Connor has just been tearing through Gotham in yet another doomed attempt to find someone who knew the bank robbbers/kidnappers. In vain. But it is why he kept his cell phone quiet. Now he calls Angel.
"They're not dead," he says in lieu of a greeting. "I know that. They're not."
Because they can't be. He's utterly and completely refusing to accept it.
"I don't think they're dead. The news always goes for worst case scenerio. They want to sell more papers."
It's what Angel believes. They just got Cordelia back. There is no way she is gone already. Osborn is too much of a pain in the ass to just die in a plane crash.
"Nobody in Gotham knows anything," Connor says, and he knows Angel will get the implication. "They came from outside. But they must have come from somewhere. And if we could find out where they came from, where they wanted to go, then -"
He takes a breath. "The thing is, one of the tellers said one of them had a Boston accent. Doesn't mean he was there in the last twenty years, just that he came from there, but maybe - I'm going to come to Boston tomorrow morning, Dad, I just need to tell Natalie to take care of the dogs. But they're alone out there."
Harry and Cordy, not the dogs. Connor isn't too careful with his pronouns at this stage from viciously surpressed emotional breakdown, channelled into DOING USEFUL STUFF TO SAVE THEM. "So I figured maybe if someone knows something in Boston, and you could find them tonight -"
Because Boston has just one bankrobbing criminal at large and missing. Still, it's the only thing vaguely resembling a lead he has so far.
"Did she have a description of him? Did they have any names that were dropped?"
He figures the answer to the second question is no. If they were smart enough to have a plane ready then they were not amateurs. A description would be good, if the teller remembered anything. People had a tendency to forget details when they were scared.
"Natalie?" He asks, because he's confused and thinks maybe Connor is protecting the teller and has her in the apartment. Maybe she'll be the one to watch the dogs.
Angel has been trying to track down the mysterious Boston accented bank robber. He's working on some theories and he needs to compare notes with Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor at the end of the day.
He answers the phone without checking the caller id and is hopeful that maybe Cordelia or Harry has managed to reach a phone. "This is Angel."
He tenses slightly at the sound of Orlando's voice, but he knows that Orlando would of course be concerned. "No, nothing yet. The police are not releasing information right now since they are conducting their own investigation. I assume it's to keep press from trying to take advantage of the situation and hindering the process. Have you been contacted for a ransom demand yet?"
Angel isn't willing to believe yet that they were actually on the plane. He has a couple of theories and one of them is that the two gunmen were possibly shot to make it appear that they had to make room for Cordy and Harry. Yes, it's an optimistic theory, but he's holding on to it. That would mean they were being kept some place else and someone should be contacting Orlando and Bruce since they will no doubt not be able to reach Connor by phone.
