So is it a new year now? I didn't know people celebrated that kinda stuff. Do people usually celebrate by making those lights in the sky, too? They're really pretty. I wonder how they make them... Maybe I can fly close and take a look later on.

And how come it's still night time? Did I oversleep or something? Huh, weird.

I believe that fireworks are a common practice during large celebrations such as this, so the answer to your question would be "yes".

My system's internal clock reads that it is currently midday. Perhaps this city is experiencing a solstice.

[OOC: Roboboy can have a Robowoman to talk to. :3]

Oh, okay. So I was right.

What's a solstice?

((OOC: Yay, more androids :D))

On many planets where there are clear polar regions, some areas will experience periods of time where the sun is either present longer than it normally would be, or likewise absent. This would be the latter. I believe they are also referred to as "The longest days of the year" on some planets. However, they do not usually last the length of the day, unless one is in a polar region, where night and day may last many months each.

In any event, this would seem to simply be a singular anomaly, and it is likely it will pass by tomorrow.

Oh... okay. So then it's probably something other than a solstice.

Maybe it's another one of those curses or whatever. Not as bad as some of the other one's I've seen.

Oh yeah, I'm Grey, by the way. What's your name?

These "curses", as it would seem, are designed to be unpredictable. The dangers of this are impossible to ignore, but at the same time they are impossible to predict. It is... Unsettling.

I am KOS-MOS.

Yeah, that's what I've been told. I just try to not worry about them too much. As long as they don't hurt or anything, I think I can probably deal with them.

Nice to meet you, KOS-MOS!

That would be the most logical line of reasoning.

A pleasure to meet you as well, Grey.

Do you know what other stuff people do to celebrate a new year?

The consumption of massive quantities of alcohol is also commonplace.

Bleh, that stuff's really bitter. I don't get why some people here like it so much.

What about food?

I was not designed with the capacity for taste, nor was I made to consume food of any sort.

Oh, you're a robot, too? I kind of took it for granted that reploids can eat food, but I guess robots can't.

My designation is Special Humanoid Anti-Gnosis Annihilation Weapon. Unlike most modern combat realians in production, my composition is 100% mechanical.

Whoa, a weapon?! And you aren't a robot OR a reploid? I'm kinda confused...

Humanoid combat android would likely be more appropriate. I am programmed with a "simulated personality OS" to ease relations with my operators. It is designed to make me seem more human.

An "android," huh. Sounds kind of like Protoman, but you're definitely a lot nicer.

I'm not human, either. I don't really get what the difference is. I think reploids are made of metal 'n stuff and humans aren't. So I guess we have something in common!
