[When Vash had finally conked back out (him and his stupid Malnosso kidnapping problems...), Wolfwood took at as a chance to sneak away to the bar-this 'Seventh Heaven' place, as Meryl had worked at the other place and he wasn't too sure he wanted to think quietly there.
Drinking certainly had its perks, and a light buzz was often something that got

Good thing he can mix a shitty drink well.
It's the nickname that catches his attention. He's heard of Wolfwood, has a vague idea on what he sounds like, but the words etch back Broom Head when he replays them through his head, and Sanji chuckles quietly]
Needle Noggin, huh?[It's quiet and amused and barely realizing he said it outloud]

Wolfwood looks up curiously. And smiles, thinking: hell, if so many people he'd met knew Vash, this guy probably did, too. A shame, most of Vash's journal replies are filtered thanks to that blue-haired freak. So he just threw it out on assumption alone.]
Needle noggin, spikey, broomhead, take your pick. His normal name certainly doesn't suit him.
[He downs another shot from a glass.]
I'm sure he could maim a man, if he ran in for a headbutt.

Maaah, I prefer Broom Head, myself. [there's no one else to serve at the moment, so he slowly digs around for a cigarette.]
I'm surprised he hasn't done it on accident, even when he's purposely stumbling around.
Reply
Hummmm, so I'll take that as a 'smoking allowed' gesture on your part?
[He lifts a brow, smiling still; at least talking to people was a damn fine way of avoiding his thoughts. He appreciated anything the guy had to say, quite frankly.]
You could always hire him to clean up the floors after hours, y'know. Sure, you can't pay him in money, but food'll do the trick.
[...What a curly eyebrow you have. :|a]

You'd be right. A smoke and a shot go hand in hand.
[Oh, Sanji figured the guy needed a distraction. He will be playing the role of the chatty bartender because he's bored, he likes talking, and you mock Vash, too.
Also, lay off the eyebrow, sir. 8|]
Not a bad idea. Maybe I'll put out a trail of donuts for him to follow.

That Ginko guy give you some weird cigarette-starting ability, or should you two just form a club?
[Aaaa, it's been a tough week, bartender. My best friend is still an idiot and my foe is running around biding his time for complete tomdickery... AKA, it's really as if I never kicked the bucket to begin with. That said, 'a smoke and a shot go hand in hand' is like a fucking mantra at this point of Wolfwood's life. He lights up one himself, and soon that section of the bar is second-hand haven.
Also, a snort of amusement.]
I apologize if you've already been traumatized by him and his weird obsession-don't know how the hell he stays so thin and spazzy, with how many calories-worth of those he inhales.
[...I'll lay off the eyebrow when you tweeze it. :3]

[Buddy, that shit sounds rough. Have another shot, it's on me - there's no real cure for bad karma besides flipping it off and hitting the booze.]
Oh no, don't worry about it. [There's a sadistic glint in his eye, though full of good humor] I took the necessary price out of his hide.

He glances at the cross before returning his amused gaze to the bartender.]
Vash's been telling me about that, but I don't know if I'll be any good at it. If he manages, though, I think I'll give it a shot...
[A pause, as he chuckles. Lots of memories of retribution are popping up, thanks to all the spats he and Vash had gotten into. Over ridiculous things, mind you, but...]
To be fair, I can say the same. He deserves a good smack upside the head, from time to time. How long you had the pleasure of knowing the broomhead?
[...from a 250ish pound cross... Eeeeh, he recovers quick. Whatever.]

I'll be helping him with Tsinku and Eferin. You might as well drop by and see him get shot at by lightning.
[And to be fair, Sanji's feet pack the same amount of punch. He's been continuing the abuse while you've been absent, Wolfwood.]
Now? About... [Damn, how long has it been? His stare hits the wall] Eight, nine months?
First time I met him, I sorta kicked him in the face.
Reply
Ha, excellent!
[And he would commend you for your duty to all of Luceti for that. Lord, he'd only been there for a few weeks and he's already had to dish out random physical abuse granted, it was mainly when Vash was mocking him, but aaaah, we'll get to the more endearing abuse later, he's sure.]
That's still mind-boggling to me-I mean, I saw him the day before I got here.

Do tell what he did to make you kick him in the face?

[And nearly set the poor guy aflame]
But then, he got me drunk at the bar a few days after, so I'd say the shithead and I are even.

[A laugh.]
Though I paid him back a few times, so the bastard damn better call it even.
[It was kind of weird, because when he thought of all that time he'd spent running around after the idiot, it wasn't even like he had been hired to help him. Mainly because he'd been so preoccupied with what was actually attacking them.
He holds up his glass, peering through it distantly.]
Robotic spiders, a giant mansion of bandits, sandworms, and then some-yeeep, I guess I could say hanging around him was eventful.

Doesn't surprise me. Not that he talks about his adventures much. [Stated on an exhale of smoke, and he says it like the other might understand]
Eight months of being stuck around the guy and sometimes it's like I barely know him.

And even though he knew so much through his work alone, he's glad he's aware of shit. Because Vash wouldn't have told him anything on any whim, even if he'd head-locked him for answers.
...Which is to get to a certain point: some things aren't meant to be said yet. And even then, Vash would rather wait a millennium than tell friends he deeply cared for his mistakes and burdens.
That's this man's opinion, anyway.]
Vash has layers of well-intentioned trust, all complicated and equally aggravating. Talking about anything with him is pulling teeth. Not to mention, he likes to downplay anything he feels, as if he can't even be honest about something as simple as feeling upset or confused.

[It's not sure what Wolfwood thinks, but there are issues he wants perfectly clear. Half the reason Sanji knows nothing is because he never pushed.]
And... I know. [A corner of his mouth lifts up while he slips back into thought] That's one thing I can pick up on - when he's happy. If that shithead Legato wasn't around... [Eh. He waves that issue over like a trail of smoke, because Legato is around and there's no point wishing for things that won't change yet
