An interesting thought. You remind me of the lament sometimes expressed around Christmas or even Valentine's Day: essentially that it's rather fake to be particularly kind, expressive or loving just because it's the designated time to be so or because it's just what the community does.
I can see how it might seem that the practice of such actions around these times is made less meaningful, less sincere, in the ordinary days following.
However, considering what I think to be the natural inclination of people, namely looking out for themselves before they think to do so for others (which I don't hold to be wrong and am merely acknowledging as a habitual instinct), I think the Easter and yes even the Palm Sundays (or equivalents) of our lives are by no means less valuable for their sharp contrast; perhaps they are more so. A ritualistic excuse to be the very best part of ourselves from time to time, even if inconsistently, does I think enhance even those days when we don't have the will or patience or plain niceness to be more than ordinary. In that sense, I’d concur with the original reference, that every “Sunday”, every excuse to be our better selves, is an Easter Sunday.
