[Action/Description]
With the arrival of morning came the arrival of Parents Day at a complete surprise. At first he thought he was dreaming: when his eyelids opened to the Slytherin dorms and the five other neatly-arranged beds (empty once more, as he spent so much time awake at night) he was met with the image of an icy, vague Hina. She gazed at him straight in the face, and he, in return, stared at her for a long time.
She had changed. So much.
With such gradualness he began to realize that his mother was almost ethereal - as he could see right through the milky form of her legs, of her long, draping kimono, right into the bed posts on the other side. This perplexed him at first, and yet the word "ghost" wouldn't fade from his mind for some reason.
"Hiei," The dream-like Hina said, though she looked especially wary, "It's been a long time."
And that's when he understood...she was real. Under any other ordinary circumstance, Hiei would've doubted Hina visiting him - after eight years of very distant separation, how could he not? But suddenly he just knew that Hina was here, in the physical realm, and that she...was apparently dead.
He stared at her, wide-eyed for a moment, then in a complete twist...
...resisted the urge to scream and turned over to bury his anger in his pillow.
She had died.
How long ago when did she die why is she here Parents Day...
...Oh no.Yukina!
When he had managed to recover form the initial shock and frustration of his mother's arrivial and her...deceased status, Hiei jerked up from his stance on the bed and took shaky strides to the center of the room. His pride returned in the form of trying to keep his movements natural and still, hiding the anxiety and sadness gathering in the pit of his stomach.
"Yukina," He managed to spit, clenching his fists tightly. "Where is she?"
"...I don't know where she is now," Hina admitted, her face contorted with grief. "I...died...three years ago. She should be in Ruri's care now, but recently she left that place--"
"I told you to take care of her!" He shouted, slamming his wound fist against a nearby bed post.
"I'm sorry!"
"Where is she?!"
"I don't know-I'm-I'm sorry, Hiei. I'm so sorry, ck," The sensitive mother drew back. Her body nearly crumpled under what would seemingly be weak knees...if she had that weakness with a mortal body. Her confident layer broke at once, like pretty china that feel from the table.
"Please...Hiei...forgive me."
The Slytherin gritted his teeth, bearing an expression of such pain that it would worry anyone else who had witnessed. He fled at once from the dormitory, using his speed spell to climb the astronomy tower and then to the roof. Up on the sloping shingles, he balanced himself against a nook outside a catwalk, ignoring the cold winds for a much deeper pain.
Yukina...where can I find you? Please...please, don't be dead. Don't die. Don't come visit me as a ghost.
If there was only one thing I could ask for...please don't die. No, you're too strong...but still.

[Journal/Voice]
Don't come looking for me.
[OOC: Isn't being dramatic and angsty fun?
Anyway, poor Hina will be wandering around, considering leaving but is also too worried not to, either sitting saddened in the Slytherin common room, aimlessly gliding down halls, or watching rather coldly as people in the Great Hall eat. I'll make another post with her as an NPC later. As soon as I can find an icon.
Meanwhile, Hiei is stuck up on the roof angsting for a little. He'll be missing all of his classes and will, no doubt, be snappier than usual. There's also more surprises to come from this.]
