Rebel 39 [Action/Written]

Oct 07, 2011 20:54

[Today, while the sun is still up, anybody passing by House 48 may be treated to a sparring match complete with Filial magic tricks. The lawn is the battleground, and surprisingly isn't getting too torn up between Litchi and Thirteen practicing both magic and fighting moves. It's probably a little overdue, since Litchi definitely feels like she's ( Read more... )

[This post grabs Robert's attention right away, of course. As it is wont to do.

... That, and he's a volunteer at the Battle Dome.]

Certainly, Doctor Faye-Ling.

May I enquire about these developments? [He does know that McCoy was sent home...]

We've recently lost a couple very key doctors. The Malnosso seem to be sending home quite a few people as of late.

I think we may need a little bit of reorganizing because of it.

[Others besides McCoy? Yeesh. That's not good.]

That is highly unfortunate. Are there even enough skilled people to take over the vacated positions? [An unskilled doctor shouldn't be in the position if they can help it.]

I think so, yes. We still have Mr. Law and Ami here, after all, along with several others. Everything should be just fine, but we will certainly need a little rearranging.

[She has a very heavy dose of confidence in most of her colleagues, but he's right. It's a position that will need to be considered carefully.]

I have been training for medical work myself - but I am hardly a skilled doctor. [If anything, he's an amateur. And still not entirely familiar with Luceti's backwards technology.]

I would happily be trained for the job, but that could take years.

It certainly takes time, but I'm sure you'll be caught up sooner or later with proper training.

Which reminds me, how has your training been going?

Other than certain events causing some difficulty [- because princesses do not make for good doctors -], I would think it is coming along quite well at this point. I have updated my anatomical knowledge, primarily.

Still, I would prefer an actual doctor oversee me if at all possible. Would you wish to assist, Doctor Faye-Ling?

I would love to. Anything I can do to help, I'd be happy to assist.

[Robert can't help but be very enthusiastic to hear that.]

I appreciate it very much, Doctor Faye-Ling.

In particular, I would like to become more familiar with the more involved procedures, such as surgery - the technology here differs immensely from what was utilized at home, and I have never been formally trained in that regard.

[This is good, because she is ridiculously enthusiastic about this as well.]

Those are certainly a little more difficult to learn, but I can absolutely teach you. Surgery isn't my strong point, but I do know more minor processes.

[Doctoring enthusiasm must be infectious!]

Whenever you have the opportunity, I would be most willing to come over to learn. [And he smiles behind the camera.] I believe you would make an excellent teacher.

I also did want to spend more time with you. [That last part is written almost shyly, compared to the rest.]

[Litchi gives a sheepish laugh.] Thank you. I did some teaching back in the city, but I have to admit, my students weren't terribly receptive. I'm sure I won't have any issue here, though.

I'm certainly looking forward to spending some more time with you as well.

You were actually a teacher as well? [... He's already enamoured of you, Litchi, but this just made it even moreso.] When will you cease to amaze me?

Ah, but I should expect it by now. That just seems to be the sort of person you are - hence why I should learn to be a proper friend to you.

[You're making her blush~] I was. Although, I have to admit, when I started, it was more or less just in exchange for a chance to study the clan I was teaching. They grew on me very quickly, though.

[ ... ] Come to think of it, you could ask Tao about it if you liked, but somehow I doubt she remembers much of any of it.

Tao? Is she a member of that clan, then? [He'd be curious to meet Taokaka anyway, actually. Non-human sapients, hooray! Though... it's not as if Taokaka would be much of a conversationalist...]

She is. Although I have to admit, she's never been my best student. [Her favorite student, yes, but not the best one. Funny how that worked out.] If you'd like to learn more about them as well, I'd be happy to share what I've learned. I'm sure Tao wouldn't mind telling you what she knows as well.
