Ideas please!

I need gift ideas for my mum. Poor thing is getting her hip replaced two days before Christmas and will likely be spending Christmas Day in hospital. She'll then have very limited mobility for about six weeks. So, give me ideas please! Likes: science, gardening, her grandson.
