if you alienate people and disvalidate their cultural ideologies, you can't build any bridges, make the movement bigger. because it must be a movement of the truly righteous, or at least the ones treading the path too enlightenment.
if we allow this country to further divide, all our hopes will be lost.
if we can build bridges, across ideologies, across privilege and oppression, across cultural groups, then we have a flying chance.

we must be ready to wage a war against those who truly oppose us, those who, right now, are in power. we must be ready to defend ourselves.
but remember, there is a difference between a hero and martyr. a martyr wants to die for his cause. a hero will live or die for his cause, but would rather live.
in the same way, a true warrior can fight and kill for his principles, but would rather be peaceful. an obnoxious asshole just wants to fight.
Agreed, but I read the passage as an attack on a select elite, rather than, say, on conservatives who voted republican. Also, I thought the atheist line was funny.
