Under the name of Shake-speare, considered the finest writer in the English language, not a single piece of correspondance exists, and this in an age where letter writing was not only the single means of communication, but an art in itself.
Under the name of Edward de Vere, there exists a rich body of correspondance addressed to the most prominent people of the day. These letters are noteworthy in that they contain a multitude of biblical allusions, legal jargon, unusual turns of phrase, and franco-phone vocabulary that can also be found, often verbatim, in the plays of Shake-speare.
Why do the so-called scholars persist in being such fools?
