In their defense, it hadn't seemed this bad several hours ago. After just one day - not much at all, though certainly interesting - Moira simply wasn't prepared to give up and go home. It had seemed likely that the storm would come and go, certainly that it was headed more firmly for the main island, and there was no harm in continuing to look

"Hey, at least look on the bright side," he said, slowly turning on the spot. The rain beaded over his trenchcoat, though if it kept up at this pace, it would soon soak right through. "We won't have to look far for water."

"The village looked sturdy enough," she said. There was no good to be had in rushing through what supplies they had brought, though, on the off chance this became much worse than it currently appeared. The rain had sent much of the island's fauna under cover, but she wasn't worried yet. "We can head that way an' figure out what t' do about food as we go. There's fish an' game if we're up for it an' plenty o' wild fruit an' vegetables t' be gathered." It was, in fact, every bit as abundant a place as the island they had left, another reason why she couldn't understand why the place was so thoroughly abandoned.
