I never know whether to edit the squeecaps with later thoughts. Should I do that or not? Which is less annoying?
- I do like how it somehow didn't seem like an undeserved get-out with the thing and the thing. I mean it is maybe a stretch that the whale wouldn't hold centuries of torture against them, but eh. But like it was maybe that Amy did actually have to think to save everyone? Usually in Rusty!Who you would get a Hard Choice and then something would happen to save the Doctor having to actually choose and/or live with the consequences of his choice. I like how it gets to option four via option three, which is the least evil choice but still not a happy one.
- Also I think if he'd had to braindead it he would of taken Amy home and that would have been that. Or is that not what would have happened?
- There were some plot holes which is odd for Moffat as his are usually not obvious. Stuff like shouldn't the whale make the water move, and why does Amy play and then ignore her message, and how come the Doctor knows all about the ship except the whole SPACE WHALE thing. Also why open your mouth when you're about to get hit by sick? And didn't the notice the GIANT TEETHS? And wasn't the whale's mouth leading out into space?
- A BIT WORRIED ABOUT NEXT WEEK D:
- Omg Doctor, you've done way worse than the mercy-killing of a giant space whale.
- So basically everyone is saved by Amy's faith in the Doctor and in her faith that the giant space whale is like the Doctor? Idk if the Doctor would want to help out after centuries of torture, I think he would probably want to fuck someone's shit up. It's a good thing the space whale didn't.
- Also I did not want to smack Amy in the head, because she did not just Out Of Compassion decide to oppose the Doctor without offering any workable alternative of her own. Like lizbee said, it is like if Dalek was better than it actually was. And had any sense of perspective and so on. You know, little things like that. Man, I kind of love/hate Dalek. I think more hate now that I've just seen it done better.
- How much do I like that it hasn't told me whether or not to ship them? THIS MUCH. It is like I can make up my own mind about how sexy they are! Probably it won't stay that way, but I appreciate the change from having episode one tell us how to feel and it goes on unchanged until the finale. I feel like this central relationship might, like, create Drama and be Going Somewhere and have Change and Turbulence and all that exciting shit Rusty never gave us.
Nyergggg, I wish I could have all these thoughts at once rather than having to spam with them SOZ GUYZ.
