Lols Timelordhood! That fandom euphemism is hilarious to me in its badness!
"You want to have drunken sex with someone, don't you?"
"How about it?" he asked, propping himself up on one elbow.
"What about River?" she tried, hoping to distract him from his sudden interest in her.
I have a thing in fic lately where Donna tries to send him to shag River so she doesn't have to deal with his randy ways.
"Your breasts are nicer than hers."
This is factual.
She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's me seduced."
She is so resistant to his charms!
(I guess mostly I'm fascinated in how you came up with the idea of putting sex pollen into this story, and what purpose it serves, and if you toyed with them being mutually affected, or things going further while he was under the influence, or if it was a way for Donna to rebuild trust in him...?)
It was so that Donna gets a chance to take advantage and by not taking it rebuilds some trust and realises that she is not entirely powerless in the relationship. Giving her power over him by making him temporarily weaker, and seeing how that affects her after everything that has happened to them. So she was never going to be affected by it and them shagging under the influence might have made it more awkward between them because he wasn't entirely with it at the time.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Thanks so much for this. I think the power dynamic is utterly fascinating, esp. in the DW world, were the male character is set up to automatically have the power and authority, and his women fall into that with him, right up until Donna's first trip with him and "Donna. Human. No!"
I think that is when I really fell hard for this show.
