Barton's in the park today. This isn't unusual, generally, except for two things. One, there's a dog with her. A German Shepard to be exact. It looks friendly and playful, and it's also blue. Yep, totally blue. The other odd things is, that to people who know her, Barton is smiling and obviously enjoying playing with her new pet. The dog ( Read more... )

[Mao, having just finished practicing with his sword, is now watching Barton and her dog with an interested expression on his face.

It's quickly wiped off when the ball hits him. On the head.]

Watch where you're throwing that!

[Erk. Well, it's not heavy, at least.]

Ya oughta pay more attention. Didn't see ya there.

Hmph. Like I wasn't so obvious.

[He wasn't, exactly. He gives the dog a wary glance before leaning against a tree.]

How'd you get a dog? Last time I checked, you didn't have one. And why is it blue?

Yeah. She's this girl I met. We were talkin', and I brought up I was planning on getting one. She offered to make me one. I was curious, so I said yeah. And here he is. [She pats the dog on the head.] Not really what I had in mind, but it worked.
