i hung out with kelsey for the first time in a while yesterday. after work, i picked her up and we went to the diner, where we were joined by jake. we were bored, and figured at that time of day, the only things open are in new york (this was around 4-5 am). i owed her a trip to NYC since 2003, so we took the train up from trenton, getting there just after sun up.
when we got there, we went to the tick-tock diner on 34th and 8th. au pairs looking for work from other countries were everywhere...it was like the UN. after we left, we walked around times square, then decided midtown sucks, so we hopped the D to coney island.
coney island is small. very small and lame. and filled with old people in bathing suits, and flocks of little kids in yarmulkes. we ate some waterice, and hopped back on the D to china town. we made a bunch of random turns, went in a few cool shops, and felt out of place walking around. time started to run out, so we hopped a train from fulton station to penn station.
there, we got some food, and lost jake. kels and i were eating in a deli, and he just wandered off like a little kid. kels was worried, but i figured he kne the train was leaving at 2:01, and we'd see him when we got to trenton. lucky for her, we saw him come down on the platform about 2 minutes before the train left. i slept on the train, then slept while hanging out with sykes. slept for 12 hours. fealt good
edit and, in response to my own ramblings yesterday, coney island was an island. they filled in the creek to make the beltway.
