Holiday Fest!
We have planned what I hope will be a no-pressure Holiday Fest. Write about a character from Harry Potter celebrating an end of the year holiday -- New Years Day, New Years Eve, Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid, the Winter Solstice -- and incorporate the theme of family.
The spirit of the story can be very wide ranging; we can have a cynical Sirius enduring a Black family New Year's eve party, grim Harry with the Dursely's at Christmas, a tense Aberforth sharing a Dumbledore Christmas with Gellert, a warm picture of Luna with her father celebrating the winter solstice, a fun filled Weasley Christmas or an opulent Malfoy holiday extravaganza. It is all up to you. (Really the possibilities are endless, a farcical attempt by a newly married Lily to share Christmas with Petunia would be a blast.) Family can be however you want to define it.
I've left the word count open. A hundred word Drabble would be fun, but if you want to write a 20,000 word epic be my guest.
The fest will finish on December 31st. I will post a round up on January 1st. Please post all entries with the words Holiday Fest in the header. I hope you all enjoy this.
